Real Vision Baptist Church Real Vision Baptist Church is a local body of believers dedicated to restoring God's Real vision for His church through the biblical process of discipleship.

We exist solely to bring glory to God's name by living out His commission to make disciples. Real Vision is a church of "Real" people attempting to build itself on the foundation of God's Word. We seek to glorify God by leading "Real" people to a "Real" relationship with a 'Real"
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Can we all just get along. Christians, please don't use your Christian liberty to create division unnecessarily. Let's unite over the gospel and seek to be righteous rather than right! The world is watching us, and so is God!

Hebrews 10:24-26

24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some,
but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Many of us see Sunday morning worship services as a simple choice with little or no consequences. But the truth is, that we need to worship God and we need each other.
Everyday life has a way of beating us down, and the continual bombardment of evil influences we are exposed to, need to be countered.
We all need to be encouraged in our Christian walk. We all need to hear that others face the same struggles. We all need to hear stories of victory. We all need to be held accountable. We all need to be taught how to live. We all need to to be reminded that we are not the center of the universe, God is! And He deserves your worship.

Do you want to be encouraged this morning?

Will you join me this morning in corporate worship?

You will be glad you did?

Proverbs 3:9-10
Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.

These are wise words penned by the wisest and richest king to ever live ( King Solomon). He wrote the first part of Proverbs as a guide to his sons of how to live our lives. Proverbs 3 teaches us that we are to put God first. Only then will we receive all that God intends to give us. Wisdom, comfort, prosperity, and most importantly, a right relationship with Him.
We learn in Proverbs 3 that God expects to be first in everything that we have and do. This includes our material possessions. We bring honor to Him when we put Him first. We see that there is a connection between what we give to Him and what we receive in return. If we honor God with the first part of what we have, then we will be blessed in return. God expects and deserves the first and best of what we have! It all came from Him in the first place and we only have it because He chooses to give it to us.
I have never gone hungry, or lacked real needs, because I gave to God the firstfruits. I have however lacked material things because of poor choices that I have made. The worst of these poor choices was giving God the leftovers.

If you give Him the first and best, then He will provide for your needs, often in unexpected ways?

Are you bringing honor to God by giving back to His ministries from your first and best (time, talent, and treasure)?

Or, do you give Him what little is left over after you use most for yourself?

It's Sunday again, and I assume that if you are reading this, that God has given you another day on this earth to spend however you choose. And there are so many different choices that you could make. You could use it to sleep late. You could choose to go to the lake. You could choose to go to the park, clean the house, play games, visit relatives, go to the mountains, or the beach. But you could also choose to use it to worship God, which is what you were created to do. None of the above choices are bad things, but only one has any eternal significance.

Let me encourage you to go to your local church this morning to worship Jesus with other like minded believers. Only then will you be truly fulfilled. You were created to worship. Go do it!!!!!

Christian, when life doesn’t go as you plan, do you get angry with God?

How do you deal with “bad” things that happen to you?

Psalm 94:12

12 Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O Lord,
And whom You teach out of Your law

A lot of bad things come into our lives because Satan loves to tempt us. Other times it’s because someone else made a bad life choice that happens to affect us. However, there are many times that those negative circumstances are a result of our own bad choices. Today’s verse speaks of consequences for our own choices.

This world, that we all must live in, can well be described as lost (separated from God) and dying (moving farther from God all the time). Because of this, and the influence of Satan's evil deceptions, it is hard for us to stay focused on living holy and righteous lifestyles.

Oftentimes, Christians are tempted, and give in to immoral choices. Because of this, our Heavenly Father, steps in and disciplines us. Not to punish us, but to shake us back into focusing on an eternal perspective. He disciplines us and provides negative consequences to sin because He loves us and wants to teach us how we should live. He doesn't show us His way for living because He is a killjoy. He shows us the right way to live because it is best for us. It leads to abundant life.

When negative consequences come, do you become angry, hurt, or feel as though God owes you a different outcome? Or do you see them as opportunities to learn and grow?

Today's verse teaches us that we are blessed when our Father chastens (disciplines) us. We all need boundaries and consequences to live fulfilling lives. One day you will look back at His chastening and realize it was a blessing.

My prayer for us today is that we will recognize His chastening, learn from it, and feel blessed and loved because of His active role in our lives

Thursday:
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Our perspective (what we choose to focus on) is so very important to our mental well being. If God is real, and I assure you, He is. And if His Word is true, and it is, then these verses are teaching us that we need to have an eternal , instead of a temporal perspective .
We so often look at our physical lives as though our short time here on earth is all there is. When we do this we tend to be very inward focused. We are more inclined to get all we can and do all we can because we only live once. We also tend to struggle to accept and deal with any type of setback or struggle.
God is telling us here, that our physical bodies begin to deteriorate the moment we are born. But our souls are eternal and that this short lived physical life is nothing compared to eternity.

Where is your focus, on temporal things that will all go away? Or, on eternal things that will last forever?

I promise you, if you ask God to help you gain an eternal perspective, and focus everyday on eternal things that your physical life will take on greater meaning and you will find yourself with purpose and joy.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
8 We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;
9 we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.

Paul was speaking to the church at Corinth because they were being attacked from those outside as well as fighting within. They had issues over doctrine because they were a young church filled with new converts who had a background of selfish lifestyles. They also struggled with false teachers. They must have felt caught in the middle. They probably felt overwhelmed by trials.
Many of us today, often feel the same way, with the pressures of our modern world. To begin with, we are all a little selfish. Then we are pulled in so many different directions by busy lifestyles. Then we are bombarded with the lies of Satan, which question God's authority and his divine nature. Top that all off with money or relationship issues and it's easy to see that we are at a vulnerable place.
Have confidence today that none of these circumstances alone, or all of them combined have taken God by surprise and they are all under His control!
Today's verses should give us confidence that we will overcome these circumstances with Gods help. They are difficult, but not insurmountable.
You do not have to face dark days alone. If you are a child of God, them He has given you brothers and sisters to walk the path with you. And your Heavenly Father is always there to pick you up!

Will you trust Him with your problems today?

Have you ever faced great trials in your life?

How do you handle those trials?

Job 1:21; 23:10
21 And Job said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

10 But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Many times when trials come into our lives, we become so consumed by the immediate, that we focus only on our present circumstance. We often fail to recognize that the world goes on and that our
situation is temporal. We focus so much on this temporary life and the trial that we are going through that we lose the eternal perspective. Many times, when we face trials in our lives, God is using those physical trials to do something in the spiritual realm.
Job was a Godly man, whom God was pleased with. God allowed Satan to attack Job, to give us an example of how to handle trials and to teach Job to trust God. Job lost everything, but through it all, he kept an eternal perspective. As a result of his perseverance, God blessed him with greater blessings by restoring his health and giving him even more than he lost.

Could God be doing something great or teaching something through your trials?

Precious metals are refined ( purified ) through fire. Are you being made pure?

Do you have an eternal perspective?

Lord, help us to see the trials in our lives for what they are. And give us strength to stand firm in every situation. Please help us to learn to trust you through our trials as Job did, and to focus on eternal life rather than this temporary existence. Thank you for our trials and the strength that they build in us.

Romans 8:28
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Notice that this scripture doesn't say that all circumstances are good. But rather, no matter the circumstance, good or bad, that God causes them all to work together for the ultimate good of the believer.
The present circumstance may be bad, but ultimately, God uses all circumstances to build up the believer into who He intended them to be.
Are you currently going through some tough circumstance?
If you are a believer, then He is building Godly character in you as He walks through the tough times with you!!!
We shouldn't always ask for the circumstance to be removed. If we never struggled, then we would never grow. Ask instead for your lessons to be learned more rapidly! And then thank Him for His willingness to allow you to grow and learn.

Isaiah 58:13-14
13 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
14 then you will find your joy in the Lord,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land

Today is Sunday. Saturday is the Jewish sabbath, but most Christians worship on Sunday( resurrection day) to celebrate Jesus' victory over death and sin.

Will you choose to worship Him today by fellow shipping with other like minded worshippers at church?

Or will you do as you please and honor yourself?

The choice is yours, but I choose to honor God!!

See ya in church!!!

Romans 5:3-4

3 And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,
4 endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.

Yesterday we talked about how trials( negative circumstances) bring joy to Christians because these afflictions build our endurance. Today we see more verses, written to another audience, by another Apostle, dealing with the same subject.

The Apostle Paul knew all about trials. He was imprisoned for preaching, stoned for preaching, shipwrecked while on prison transport, and bitten by a poisonous snake. But, Paul says that he rejoices in afflictions because when we endure( outlast) them, it builds our character. Your character is not who you say you are, or who you want to be, but rather who you really are, who you are on the inside, or when no one is looking. Paul is saying that enduring trials makes us people of proven( better) character.
That proven character then produces hope (stronger faith). An easy life does none of these things.
We all hope and pray for an easy road, but trials inevitably come to us all. We need to embrace them because God is not being mean to us when we are afflicted. Quite the contrary. He is building us into better people. As hard as it is to do, we should rejoice in trials and thank Him for them.

Are you struggling with trials today? You are not alone. He is always there, walking through it with you.
