❤️🤍💙 This 4th of July, let us remember (a truthful) history, acknowledge our current events, and commit to continuing to work toward "Liberty & Justice for ALL."

🙌🏾 "Christian extremism is not theological. Supremacists’ ideology is not biblical. Domination over other human beings is not of God.

The call to Be the Church where God is still Speaking is an acknowledgement that racial justice includes all humans and never excludes anyone based on skin color, culture, ethnic origin, non-binary gender identities, sexual orientation, abilities, or age.

Jesus taught humanity that Justice is for ALL!"

-Rev. Dr. Velda Love, Minister for Racial Justice Ministries

🙏🏾 Holy Spirit,

We give thanks for this next generation of young people coming up in the world.

Their hearts are full of love, their spirits are strong, and their voices are loud.

We hear them shouting for peace, shouting for freedom, shouting for justice, shouting for love.

May we offer them the respect and support they need to continue to be bold for Your creation (the earth, humanity, and all of its creatures).

Amen.

❤️💚🖤 A special Juneteenth prayer submitted by Rev. Dr. Lawrence T. Richardson, Associate Conference Minister for Church Vitality and Transitions at the Michigan Conference UCC:

"May God, the Liberator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of all, give strength to all who fight against injustice, unharden the hearts of racists, bigots, and angry people, and ignite a love and compassion so strong that it drives out all hate and bitterness. May it be so for the memory of the enslaved who were freed in death; may it be so for the descendants of the formerly enslaved; may it be so for the descendants of the slavers; may it be so for a more just and generous future where every person of every shade and hue can live together in peace, civility, and harmony.

May it be so. Asé and Amen."
