Mission Vessel

Mission Vessel Mission Vessel exists to remind us that we were all designed to serve one another. "Wes is here to do something about that."

As vessels of God, we have a vital responsibility to sow the seeds of faith, allowing God to reveal Himself through His transformative power in the lives of others. Wes will serve the Bible translation ministry full-time in the Stewardship Department at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, North Carolina. More than 600 million people, speaking roughly 5,100 languages, have less than an entire New Testament

in their most valued language. And when they can't understand what they read or hear, the life-transforming power of the Gospel is stopped in its tracks. From pilot training and mission aviation services to remote technology and communications support, Jaars provides off-the-grid logistical solutions that help make Bible translation possible. Wes is passionate about leadership and developing his partners to impact God's kingdom more. Wes has been happily married for 20 years to his wife, Tami, and they have three children, Ryan, Abbey, and Christian. Wes invites you to prayerfully consider how God might call you to be a part of their Bible translation journey by joining his Wycliffe ministry team, making a difference in the world, and experiencing God's blessings.

David beat Goliath. Solomon had it all—but found it empty. In ‘Life is Short,’ we share why the ultimate hope is found in Christ. Watch, reflect, and be encouraged.

This short video reflects on Proverbs 18:21, which reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Our words carry weight—they can uplift or tear down. In a world where we often think no one sees, this message calls us to speak life—words of encouragement, truth, and love. God sees the intentions behind our speech, and it’s a call to choose what’s right—speaking life because it’s what honors Him.

In pitch-black conditions—where there is no ambient light, clear air, and open ground—a single candle can be seen from one to two miles away. Under extraordinary circumstances, it can even be seen from farther distances. This fact alone is astonishing, but what makes it even more powerful is the reason behind it.

Darkness does not resist, argue, or fight back. Light doesn’t need permission or power to conquer darkness; when light appears, darkness retreats. A single flame releases photons in every direction, and in total darkness, that small glow becomes unmistakable. The candle’s strength lies not in its size but in its willingness to shine.

This truth is beautifully captured in Scripture:

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

Our world can often feel vast, heavy, lonely, and overwhelmed by shadows. However, darkness has never triumphed by becoming darker; it only prevails when light refuses to appear. Every faithful, God-fearing Christian is like a candle placed intentionally in this world—not to curse the night, but to pierce it with light.

Now, imagine this: what if every believer chose to shine? What if every heart set on God burned faithfully where it stood? A single candle can change the atmosphere of a room. Thousands can transform a city. Millions would set the world ablaze with hope.

This is our calling—not to hide our flame, not to fear the dark, but to let our light shine boldly. Be the beacon. Be the hope. Because when God’s people shine together, darkness doesn’t stand a chance. ~Mission Vessel~

Isaiah 54:16 boldly declares, “I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose.” Scripture powerfully embraces the imagery of the forge. The fire, the heat, the hammering—nothing is accidental. The blacksmith skillfully knows what he is doing, and the fire is designed not to destroy the metal but to shape it. Steel becomes strong only when it is willing to endure the flames.

Similarly, God intentionally allows us to face seasons of pressure, discomfort, and refinement in our lives. These moments are purposeful, never random. Like iron in the forge, we are being shaped with clear intention, prepared for a purpose bigger than we can currently see. The heat exposes our weaknesses, eliminates what does not belong, and leaves us stronger, truer, and ready for the challenges ahead. The forge is not the conclusion of our journey; it is where our strength is forged.

This image reminds us of a truth that Scripture has echoed for centuries: titles fade, positions pass, and applause grows quiet—but the way we love people leaves an eternal mark. Long after accomplishments are forgotten, character remains. Jesus never chased rank or recognition; He washed feet, touched the overlooked, and loved without condition. How we treat others reveals who we truly serve and what reigns in our hearts. In the end, it won’t be what we held that matters, but how faithfully we reflected Christ through humility, kindness, and love—because people may forget what we achieved, but they will always remember how we made them feel.

This gift is not a passive presence; it is an active guide and protector in their lives. By inviting the Holy Spirit into our hearts, we unlock divine guidance and protection that enriches our daily experiences. The Holy Spirit is God's powerful and ongoing presence, always accessible to those who choose to embrace Him.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” — Ephesians 6:11

As soldiers for Christ, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers unseen. With the armor of faith and truth, we stand firm. For if we do not take up this spiritual armor, the enemy gains ground. Therefore, let us be vigilant and strong, knowing that our victory is assured in Christ.
