Today, we reflected on Pride not just as celebration, but as resistance rooted in authenticity, community care, joy, and liberation.

We explored the spiritual power of LGBTQ+ existence, chosen family, and the ongoing work of protecting one another in a world that too often demands silence or shame. And we reflected on Pride’s protest roots, reclaiming spirituality from exclusionary systems, and what sacred resistance looks like today.

Call to Action:

May we remember that Pride began not as a celebration of comfort, but as a declaration of dignity.

May we build communities where every person is safe to live fully, love openly, and exist authentically.

May we choose courage over silence, compassion over fear, and justice over exclusion.

And may we continue the sacred work of protecting one another, reminding each other again and again:

We are all welcome here.

Sunday, June 7th at Wedgewood: “Pride Is Sacred Resistance” with Liz Schob

What does it mean to call Pride sacred?

This Sunday at Wedgewood, Liz Schob will lead “Pride Is Sacred Resistance,” a reflection on Pride not just as celebration, but as resistance rooted in authenticity, community care, joy, and liberation.

Together, we’ll explore the spiritual power of LGBTQ+ existence, chosen family, and the ongoing work of protecting one another in a world that too often demands silence or shame. The talk will reflect on Pride’s protest roots, reclaiming spirituality from exclusionary systems, and what sacred resistance looks like today.

All are welcome exactly as you are.

At Wedgewood, we believe Pride is more than a celebration. It is resistance, survival, joy, truth-telling, chosen family, and the sacred act of living authentically in a world that too often asks LGBTQ+ people to shrink themselves.

We honor the generations who fought before us, the communities still fighting now, and the beauty of q***r existence in all its forms. We also recognize that Pride is deeply connected to every movement for justice, liberation, dignity, and collective care.

Whoever you are, however you arrive, you are welcome here.

How often do we hear the response “thoughts and prayers” when someone is grieving or has suffered a loss? Are thoughts and prayers enough?

On Sunday, Rev. Rene AnNur Peace invited us to reflect on the importance of following our prayers with meaningful action. Rene believes that everything is spiritual—or nothing is spiritual. A self-described magical, fairy, empress, Renee is an interfaith spiritual practitioner, published author, theatre director, model, and social justice advocate. She is an ally to the transgender community and identifies as confidently q***r, poly, and intuitive. Yet, she says, “My most important job is called motherhood.”

Sunday May 31st at Wedgewood: "Prayer Without Action" with the Reverend Rene AnNur Peace

Rev. Rene AnNur Peace will speak with us on Sunday, May 31. How often do we hear the response “thoughts and prayers” when someone is grieving or has suffered a loss? Are thoughts and prayers enough?

Renee will invite us to reflect on the importance of following our prayers with meaningful action.

We look forward to welcoming Renee to Wedgewood as we rethink what prayer truly means. Join us!

Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the men and women of the military who gave their lives in service to our country—especially those who died in battle or from wounds sustained in battle.

As we remember their sacrifice, we also extend our deep gratitude to all who are currently serving or have served honorably in the armed forces, in both wartime and peacetime.

On this day of remembrance, may we also commit ourselves to working and praying for peace—for our nation and for the world.

There will be no in person service this week so that you may spend time with your families.
