☕ I don’t know that I can fully put into words something I’ve been reading the past few days, but it talks about how life’s hardships and beauty all come together like a bouquet.

The stems made me think about our faith holding everything together. Every flower represents a season, a story, a hurt, a victory. Some parts soft and beautiful… some parts sharp and painful. Yet somehow God still arranges it all.

I’ve watched these flowers on my counter for days now. Some of the blooms started out completely closed off, but little by little they opened up and became the prettiest part of the bouquet.

Isn’t that just like us sometimes?

Life can wound us. Grief can make us wilt. Heartache can make us want to close ourselves off from everything around us. But when we place those hurts into the hands of Jesus, He has a way of turning what felt heavy into something beautiful.

Even the valley seasons still carry life. Even the painful places can bloom again.

Maybe you’ve felt worn down lately. Maybe life has tried to convince you to stay closed off. But friend, this is not your season to wither away. Let Jesus heal what hurts. Let Him water the dry places. You were created to bloom too. 🌻

“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted… to comfort all who mourn… to give them beauty for ashes.”
Isaiah 61:1-3

Lord, I pray for the ones carrying silent hurt tonight. The ones smiling on the outside while slowly wilting within. Wrap them in Your peace and healing. Breathe fresh life into the dry places of their heart. Remind them that they are not forgotten and not beyond restoration. Heal what grief has touched. Strengthen what hardship has weakened. Let this be a season where they bloom again through Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, amen. ☕🤍

Last night our middle baby graduated, and instead of sitting under the open sky like everyone had planned, we were all packed shoulder to shoulder inside the gym trying to avoid the rain. Our school truly did everything in their power to make it happen outside, but Mother Nature had other plans.

I’d say close to 1,500 people filled that gym, and you know what? It still turned out absolutely beautiful. The cheers were loud, the smiles were big, and the moment was just as special.

It made me think about life. Sometimes we picture everything going one way, and suddenly the storms roll in. Plans shift. Disappointment creeps up. Things feel crowded, heavy, uncertain, and out of our control. But even then, God is still faithful.

A gym became a shelter last night, and my heart immediately thought about Jesus being our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. When the winds of life blow hard, we are not left uncovered. We have a safe place to run.

Maybe you feel the blows of life right now. Maybe the storm has changed your plans or shaken your peace. Don’t run from Him… run to Him. Immerse yourself in His Word. Sit in His presence. Let Him cover your heart with peace the same way that roof covered us from the rain. Stay planted even when the thunder rolls around you.

The storm outside never stopped the celebration inside. And the storm around you does not have the final say over your life either. God still moves in the middle of unexpected places and changed plans. Sometimes what looked disappointing at first becomes beautiful in a completely different way.

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10 ☕🤍

Good morning, friends. ☀️ Praying today brings a little refreshment to weary hearts.

Yesterday before I got home from work, I accidentally let the birthday cake take a dive. 😩 It completely ruined the look of it. Then right before grilling, we realized we were out of gas and had to make a run to town. By that point I was frustrated, tired from the day, and honestly not feeling up to much of anything.

But isn’t that how life feels sometimes? One thing after another. Little aggravations pile on top of heavy things we’re already carrying. Like the enemy would love nothing more than to wear us down, frustrate us, discourage us, and make us want to give up.

But y’all, we can’t quit in the middle of the hard part.

The evening ended up being so special. The laughter, the stories, the celebration, the love around the table. I would’ve missed such a sweet blessing if I had let the stress steal the moment.

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.” 2 Corinthians 4:8 🤍

If you’re tired this morning, take a deep breath. God still sees you. He still strengthens weary people. He still steps into messy moments and makes something beautiful out of them. The enemy may try to press us down, but he does not get the final say over our lives.

Let’s pray for each other today. Lord, renew our hearts, restore joy where stress has stolen it, and breathe fresh strength into weary souls. Thank You for new mercies, fresh grace, and another day to keep going. ☀️

Tonight’s Meet Me at the Table was extra special. 🤍 🎂

Scott’s mama and my mother in love celebrated 91 years today. Ninety one. What a gift! Her little body may be tired these days, but her mind is still sharp and full of life. We were so thankful to gather around her tonight and celebrate her.

As I looked around the room, I thought about how many meals she’s cooked, prayers she’s prayed, tears she’s wiped, and people she’s loved through hard seasons. Some people leave fingerprints on your life. She’s left handprints on generations.

At one point tonight, I could hear Scott reading all of her birthday messages out loud to her and it absolutely melted my heart. To hear how many people love her and how many lives she’s touched was so special. It truly is an honor to love her back after all the love she’s poured into others for so many years.

Tonight made me stop and think about the people who helped shape us. Some of y’all may still have the blessing of hugging them tight tonight, and some may only hold them in your memories now. Either way, what a gift it is to have been loved by someone who left that kind of mark on your life.

Life moves fast, but nights like tonight remind me the table matters. The stories matter. The people around us matter.

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed…” Proverbs 31:28 🤍

Y’all know I teach special needs children, so I absolutely love all things fidgets. For the past few years my classroom has been full of fidget toys, and of course I’ve bought plenty for my own kids too.

One of my favorites a few years ago was the NeeDoh cube. I bought several for our home. The girls would play with them here and there, but honestly they mostly sat around untouched.

Well all of a sudden over the past few months they’ve become the thing to have. Every young girl wants one. They’re sold out everywhere and the prices have even gone up because of the demand. The same little squeeze toy that barely got attention before has suddenly become an obsession.

My friend Dot even grabbed one for TB last week when they finally hit the shelf. I called my sister to tell her they had restocked them, and before she could even get across town they were already gone again.

It made me stop and think… what makes something so popular?

The excitement around it.
The hype.
The enthusiasm people have for it.
And honestly it convicted me a little.
What if we were this excited about Jesus? What if our love for Him was so evident that people around us wanted to know why? What if the joy, peace, kindness, and love in our hearts made others say, “I want what they have.”

Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Friend, we have something far greater than a trending toy. We have Jesus. We have hope. We have peace that the world can’t give.

Scripture tells us in Matthew 28:19 to “Go therefore and make disciples…” Maybe sometimes that starts with simply loving people well enough that they become curious about the God living inside of us.

Let’s live in a way that makes others want more of Him today. ☕🤍

☕ Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday started out as a pool day. We were soaking up a little sunshine when Abbigail gave G-Rae the cutest little phone umbrella. Y’all already know I threatened to take it home with me. 😂 ☂️

Then out of nowhere the clouds rolled in, thunder started booming, lightning struck, and the bottom fell out with rain! ☔️ We grabbed towels and took off running inside.

Honestly though the storm ended up being better than the sunshine.

We all just piled up around my parents house wherever we could fit. Some on couches, some in recliners, some standing in the kitchen talking. It was one of those slow afternoons that felt peaceful without anybody even trying.

At one point we started talking about what we were gonna do for supper when my brother and sister in law walked in carrying Boston butts hot off the grill for all of us! The teens ran to town for sides and before long everybody was eating and laughing and just enjoying being together.

It made me think about life honestly.

Sometimes we get frustrated when things don’t go how we planned. We see the storm roll in and immediately think the whole day is ruined. But so many times God is doing something good in the middle of what we didn’t expect.

Joseph probably never understood why all those hard things kept happening to him while he was living through them. Betrayed by his own brothers. Lied on. Forgotten. But later he could finally see God had a plan the whole time.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” Genesis 50:20

Maybe the storm you’re walking through right now is gathering people closer, slowing you down, protecting you, or positioning you for something you can’t see yet.

God has a way of using both the sunshine and the storm. Find Him in every season b/c He is at work!

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” Romans 8:28

☕ Thought of on Purpose

Conley went to a graduation party last night and came home with the prettiest t-shirt. I asked her where it came from and she said, “Ms. Angie said to give this to you.”

She told Conley that I had commented on how beautiful hers was at Zumba class one day, so she made me one too. 🥹

Y’all… I was honestly taken back. We haven’t even been to Zumba in a while because life has been so busy, yet she had been holding onto it waiting for the right time to send it to me. How thoughtful is that?

It made me stop and think about the goodness of people… but even more, the goodness of God.

Isn’t that just like Him? To think of us constantly. To notice the little things. To send reminders of His love in ways we never expected.

Every morning He paints a brand new sunrise across the sky just to begin our day with beauty. He knows every detail about us. Scripture says He even knows the number of hairs on our head. Think about that for a minute. The God of the universe knows you that personally and loves you that deeply.

Do you realize how much God loves you?

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” — 1 John 3:1

“How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” — Psalm 139:17

“The Lord your God is with you… He will take great delight in you.” — Zephaniah 3:17

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God… indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” — Luke 12:6-7

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning.” — Lamentations 3:22-23

Maybe today you needed the reminder that you have not been forgotten. You are deeply loved, fully seen, and constantly on the heart of God. ☕🤍
