Yesterday I preached “ENCOURAGER” and one of the points was the necessity of encouraging yourself because sometimes even those closest to you are unequipped for the moment.
Well imagine my appreciation for my own timeline post. In essence, this word is literally ME ENCOURAGING MYSELF!
AVENGERS ENDGAME...
My children were at the opening day of the movie, I went last night. Mind you, I haven’t seen most of the Avenger series, but after the week I had, I listened to the prompting of Holy Spirit to go see the movie.
After the children watched, Cecelia came home and gave us a very cryptic 5 minute summation of the movie and then asked, “What was your favorite part”. Theron Barr and I just laughed because we couldn’t keep up with half of what she was saying. When I came home last night guess what was the first thing Cecelia asked, you guessed it, “What was your favorite part”.
Hands down, my favorite part was the brief “How does this end...” exchange between Dr. Strange and IronMan followed by the moment when Dr. Strange lifts one finger and IronMan engages the battle again.
How does this end? That is the question expressed by those who enter spiritual battles. IronMan asked the question in the heat of the battle. Why did he ask? Did he ask because he was tired? Did he ask because they had lost previous rounds to this enemy? Did he ask because it looked inevitable? Did he ask because he’d lost confidence in himself and those fighting with him? Why did he ask? I don’t know for sure, but I suspect he asked because he didn’t know whether or not they would win.
I’m writing to all who want to read, but I’m talking to those who are fighting a spiritual battle. If this battle front is the Endgame you too may be asking...
How does this end?
Victoriously!
