The new St. Hubert rectory already feels like a peaceful place of prayer and fraternity. The family who sold the home to us generously left behind a beautiful statue of Mary, which now has a special place with our priests. Fr. Bennet and Fr. Derek are deeply grateful for this thoughtful gift and the faith that has been part of this home.
Fr. Bennet has also been making the rectory feel like home in another wayโthrough his cooking! He is quite the talented cook and has treated Fr. Derek to several wonderful meals. Here he is working on ribs Sunday evening.
The back patio has quickly become another favorite place to relax and enjoy the beauty and quiet around the home. The home also has a beautiful shrine built to Our Crucified Lord, tucked away on the property. Fr. Derek found it to be a wonderful place to pray and write his homily this past weekend.
And then there is the drivewayโthe long, wooded road that leads them home. There is something about driving through the trees and arriving there that truly feels like retreating from the noise of the world to a prayerful home in the woods.
Fr. Bennet and Fr. Derek are very grateful to God for this new home, for the generosity of the family who sold it, for the family who gave the parish an interest-free loan to purchase the property, for each family who has contributed, and for the opportunity to live together in a place that encourages prayer, fraternity, and ministry. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin this new chapter! ๐
