STATEMENT FROM THE GRAND CANYON SISTERS OF PERPETUAL INDULGENCE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TUCSON, AZ — The Grand Canyon Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are completely devastated by the horrific violence early Monday morning in the Venture-N parking lot. We weep for Vincent Anthony Siqueiros and Cameron Davis Capara, whose beautiful lives were stolen in an attack being investigated as potentially bias-motivated.
This tragedy strikes our collective heart. One of our Sisters shared space with Cameron just months ago during Bisbee Pride. We remember Cameron’s vibrant energy, warmth, and joyful spirit, qualities embodying our resilient community. Knowing such light was extinguished by violence brings unmanageable pain.

Venture-N has long served as a safe haven and vital gathering place for Tucson’s q***r community. Reports that a gunman allegedly targeted this establishment and carried a list of other 2SLGBTQIA+ spaces serve as a terrifying reminder of our ongoing vulnerabilities.

As an Order dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt, we refuse to let fear silence us. We stand in fierce solidarity with the victims' families, Venture-N patrons, and our southern Arizona 2SLGBTQ2IA+ family.

We encourage community members who are grieving or struggling to utilize resources provided by Pima County Attorney Victim Services at (520) 724-5525. We support our community gathering in love and strength at the candlelight vigil at Catalina Park today at 6:30pm. Representatives from our Order unfortunately cannot attend to mourn alongside you, but we will be broadcasting our glitter blessings from the astral plane, darlings!

We will not retreat into the shadows. We will continue to manifest publicly, love loudly, and honor Vincent and Cameron by advocating for a world where every q***r, trans, and Two-Spirit person can exist safely, authentically, and without fear.

May their memories be a blessing, a revolution, and a call to action.
