Meet Caitlyn! We asked her why she’d encourage others to check out ICF…here’s what she had to say: 
“I went to my first ICF apple-picking event first semester of freshmen year, but it wasn’t until the end of spring semester that I started to come around more after I realized that these were people I could feel at home with and just be silly and goofy with. 🙈

Whether it’s stargazing in -5 degrees Celsius at winter retreat, mini pool party over winter break followed by all-you-can-eat 🍱, or Michigan road-trip, I’ve had many of my first experiences in the U.S. with these people. I love spending holidays with them, going to church on Sundays, studying at Grainger, doing Friday night Bible studies + yummy food, or the daily and seemingly mundane things we do. ICF has made it so much easier to grow spiritually & build community with Christians and people who are curious about religion from people across the world.” ❤️

As we wrap up finals, we want to take a moment to say congratulations to those who are graduating! We will miss each of you, but we’re so grateful you were part of our ICF community. ❤️

And to everyone else, merry Christmas! We’re praying everything wraps up well for you and that you all have a fun and restorative break. See you in January!

Once a semester, many different Christian groups on campus get together for “All Campus Worship” which is a joint service that will include musical worship and a speaker 🎼

This Friday, instead of our regular ICF gathering, we’ll eat dinner at Basil Thai in Urbana at 6:15 pm, then walk to All Campus Worship together afterwards! (Later we’ll hang out at Kung Fu Tea or some place on Green Street for those who are interested!) 🍽️🧋

If you can’t come to dinner but want to join for All Campus Worship, DM us and let us know and we’ll save you a seat next to us 😊

“Because I was an exchange student and in the USA for the first time, being part of ICF was essential for my experience here. The moments and the friends that I've made helped make the experience better and easier. I met a lot of people from different countries, learned more about other cultures, and the best thing: I could do this all while sharing my faith in God. This little journey of 1 year being part of ICF was more than just a great experience, it gave me friendships that I will keep for my life!”

Every Friday we get together for a potluck dinner (which means that everyone brings some food to share), read a passage from the Bible and discuss it, and hang out and play games. It’s a great chance to connect and learn, no matter your religious background. (Plus potluck dinners are the best!!!😍🍽)

“It is really amazing to see people from all kinds of places all coming together to learn about God. Learning about their stories has been such a fulfilling experience for me.”

And when asked what he appreciates most about ICF: “There is a very nice sense of community! Also the potluck dinners.” (He’s not wrong…we have some pretty great potluck dinners!!! 🔥)

How has being part of ICF impacted Alden’s college experience? Here’s what he had to say: 
“As an international student who left home to come to college, ICF has felt like my second home and family. The others in ICF really helped me transition into my college life and helped me feel welcomed in an environment that I was unfamiliar with. I felt safe with my ICF family and truly felt that I could be myself around them. Even now, ICF is one of my closest groups and it excites me when I get to see them during our Friday Bible studies and socials.

I am really grateful to be able to be part of ICF, and I hope others can feel this way too. Their unwavering support and understanding have made my college experience more enriching and fulfilling. ICF has profoundly impacted my life, providing a sense of belonging and friendship that I will cherish for a lifetime.”

We asked Yating why she’d encourage others to check out ICF…here’s what she had to say:  
“Joining ICF, you’ll be able to meet people from all over the world and learn about different cultures. You’ll be able to share common experiences of living and studying abroad with other international students and find support. And you’ll learn more about Jesus through Bible study and experience God’s love in fellowship.  I came to the U.S. because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, but moving to a new place can be stressful. It’s also challenging for international students to fit in and find a sense of belonging. But ICF is a great place where I experienced new things and felt accepted as I am. I love how ICF shows Jesus love to everyone who comes, and I love to be part of it. And I hope to share my amazing experiences on campus and experiences with ICF with new friends!”
