“We need abortion in cases of r**e.”
Tell that to Anne Farens.
Anne Farrens is alive today because her mother embraced life after being violently r***d in her own home. Her mother, MJ, was bringing in groceries when a serial ra**st entered her home and dragged her to the back bedroom.
MJ survived the attack, and the ra**st was caught. Weeks later, she found out she was pregnant.
MJ’s husband suggested abortion: “When the pregnancy was confirmed, my father felt they should consider abortion because the child was not conceived in love… However, my mother was adamant that she would continue the pregnancy alone, because she would not have an abortion.”
He stuck by her side and, with counseling from a priest, embraced Anne’s life with love & excitement.
Anne and her father had a special bond growing up. She didn’t know he was not her biological father until she was 12.
“I was shocked and devastated. My mind kept trying to comprehend the news. While I was sad about what had happened to my mother, everything felt so surreal, like I was having an out-of-body experience…”
The news deeply affected Anne. She began to lose interest in her usual hobbies, and she “dropped” her friends, joining a group of “misfits.” She heard the argument “babies conceived in r**e should be aborted” from kids at school and hid herself.
At 17, she was caught in an abusive relationship and had an abortion. In college, she abused alcohol and was arrested a few times.
“I eventually sought counseling because I couldn’t fix what was wrong with me… After my thera**st learned what happened in my childhood, she affirmed that I was going to be okay. It was the first step in my healing process.”
Anne learned the atrocity of abortion when she watched

“For too long, the media has been using the r**e scenario to justify abortion... I wouldn’t change the circumstance of my conception. I didn’t understand it before, but now I see God’s hand in everything. He can redeem any situation if we trust Him.”
Every child deserves a chance at life—no matter their conception.
