OUR LAST SUNDAY

Yesterday, May 21, The Vine of NWA gathered one last time at 411 W. Centerton Blvd. Our gathering was marked by more laughter than tears. We shared a meal and rejoiced at all the goodness that God has worked through us and in us over the past couple of years.

I stand amazed at the faith of all the people pictured here: faith that God will guide their next steps and faith that God will never leave them or forsake them. May it be the same for each and every one of us in this new season to follow.

I give thanks to Almighty God for this season that allowed me to recommit to discipling my family, to reimagine what church can be, and to reawaken my heart for the lost and disenfranchised.

May the Lord bless you all until we meet again --

JOIN US FOR OUR LAST SUNDAY

On Sunday, May 21, The Vine of NWA will gather one last time. At 9:00, we'll enjoy a fellowship breakfast together. At 10:00, we'll share a time of testimony. All are welcome to join us for both!

If The Vine has made an impact in your life in some way over the years, we would like to invite you to attend next Sunday and share your story with us.

If you're not able to make it in person, leave a message in the comments below or send us a private message and we'll read it aloud on Sunday.

Let us give thanks to Almighty God for the ways in which He has blessed us with mission and purpose during this season of renewal.

DIFFICULT NEWS TO SHARE

We've been on a journey to do church differently since July 2020. On paper, this idea shouldn't work. Start a church at the height of a global pandemic? Start with no people, no building, no parent church? And yet guided by an undeniable call from God, this small group of people set out to reimagine church in a way that combined our love for God with our love for our neighbors every single week.

If you ever attended The Vine, you invariably heard us say that "Our worship isn't over until our neighbor is served." Over the past three years, we made numerous community partnerships with local non-profits and businesses, we hosted community events for our neighbors and those often overlooked, and we devoted ourselves to simplicity and authenticity every step of the way.

This is why it is with a broken heart that announce that The Vine of NWA will be closing on May 31, 2023. No doubt this will come as a shock to some, but we hope that you will hold us all in prayer as we make this difficult transition in the coming weeks.

It has been said that the only thing sadder than a church closing is a church closing and no one noticing. My highest prayer is that our presence is missed in the community of Centerton and throughout NWA.

For all of those who have supported our vision for The Vine, we give thanks for you. For all of those who trusted this ragtag group of faithful misfits to help you serve your people, we give thanks for you. And for all of those who were brave enough to journey with us as we explored how to do church differently, may God bless you and keep you until our paths cross again.

We’ve spent time with Jesus at the Table, at the cross, and at the Tomb, but tomorrow is EASTER, and God is up to something incredible!

Join us tomorrow morning for our Easter celebration. We’ll have a pancake breakfast at 9:00 and worship at 10:00.

PALMS IN THE PARK

Come celebrate the beginning of HOLY WEEK as a family out at McKissic Park!

Join us on PALM SUNDAY (April 2) from NOON-2:00 in McKissic Park for a free family activity. Bring a picnic for the family and we'll have snacks and drinks.

The walk-through activity will take about 30 minutes and we'll provide all the materials!

This Lent series brings us into Christ’s wilderness experience and examines the temptations he faced and overcame. The scriptures tell us that Jesus is driven into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit after his baptism. What if we saw the wilderness seasons in our own lives as a Holy Spirit-led opportunity to focus our attention and grow in our faith?

Join us on Ash Wednesday and every Sunday during this Lenten season as we explore that question together.
