Why do people raise their hands during worship?

Worship is simply our response to who God is and what He’s done. Sometimes that response looks like singing. Sometimes it looks like closing your eyes. Sometimes it looks like kneeling. And sometimes it looks like lifting your hands.

It’s not about putting on a show or trying to look spiritual. It can be a way of saying, “God, I surrender.” “God, I need You.” “God, You’re worthy.”

There’s no perfect posture for worship. The posture of your heart matters most. So if you’ve ever walked into church and wondered why people worship the way they do, there’s no pressure to copy anyone else.

Just bring God your honest response. Because He is worthy of it all.

📣 IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T HEARD…

We had September 6 circled on our calendars, and we know some of you did too. While we won’t be opening the doors in Bellport that day, our excitement for what’s ahead hasn’t changed one bit.

Here’s what we know: we’ve watched God provide, make a way, bring people together, and do more than we could have imagined throughout this entire journey. So we’re going to keep trusting Him in the waiting too.

And when those doors finally open, we believe it’s going to be worth the wait. Until then, keep praying with us. Keep believing with us. And get ready, Bellport. We’ll see you soon. ⏪💛

First Retro Youth night in the new building. 💛

We talked honestly about stress, pressure, anxiety and what it looks like to face those things with a faith grounded in Jesus.

Add in snacks, games, small groups, and a whole lot of laughs, and it was a pretty great night.

We’re grateful for a place where students can show up as they are, build real friendships, and grow in their faith together.
