The Tommy Kraemer Memorial Fund was founded in 2014 in memory of our dear friend, Tommy Kraemer. A product of the Friends of Tommy Dinner first hosted in the same year, both the fund and fundraiser were created as a way for friends and family to gather, celebrate and honor a man who had many passions in life. Inspired by Tommy's love of cooking and surfing, the Friends of Tommy Dinner has become a
n annual opportunity for friends and family to share in the things that Tommy loved. The donations received throughout the year serve three very powerful functions in our local community. First, an annual donation is made in Tommy's name to the South Jersey Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. This national organization is dedicated to preserving beaches throughout the country, and the South Jersey Chapter has done tremendous work to benefit beaches in Cape May County. Secondly, multiple culinary scholarships are set up annually in Tommy's name through Atlantic Cape Community College. Lastly, an annual academic scholarship has been established for graduating seniors of Tommy's alma mater, Wildwood Catholic High School. These scholarships are awarded annually to several local young people who share in either Tommy's affinity for the culinary arts or his passion for the beach and ocean. It is our hope that these scholarships will be yet another way in which Tommy's legacy is able to have a positive impact in Cape May County.
