Is anyone else feeling like this isn't America, our country we have known and loved? Every day it feels like we are slipping away. Personally I think all that is happening is God's way of telling us first hand, is this what you want? I read something not to long ago that stuck with me. The Hebrews were taken captive by King Nebuchadnezzar and carried off to Babylon.( Now Iraq). This was prophecy. God spoke through Jeremiah ( the prophet). God said He had caused them to be carried away as exiles because of their disobedience, their serving other God etc. He tells them how long they will be exiled and after the time is over He will punish the ruler and their country. He will bring the Hebrews back because He loves them ..." for I know the thoughts that I think towards you, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope." In the meantime while they are in captivity, " Build house and dwell in them, plant gardens and eat their fruit.Take wives and have children, take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they bear sons and daughters that you may be increased there and not diminished. Seek PEACE of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive and pray to the Lord for it, for in it's peace you will have peace." God did a great work in Babylon due to the Hebrews being exiled there. ( Read the book of Daniel. It's like He killed 2 birds with one stone. He punished His people (which any good father does) and used the Hebrews to bless this wicked pagan country.God took them out of the Promised Land so they would call on Him. " Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find me when you search for Me with all of your heart. Over and over in the Old Testament, the Hebrews would be blessed then start complaining. They would start worshiping other Gods, went their own way. Forgot about God. God would give them what they wanted. ( Be careful what you wish for)They would cry and beg God to forgive them. He did.... until they did it again. 9-11... we all prayed, cried out to God, filled churches. Then forgot again. We arent any different today then the Hebrews. If you get a chance read Daniel for the rest of the story. It's a great book. I no way think God has taken His hand off us though.
