On our final Sunday Gathering at Nelson Hall, we heard the evidence of what this community has meant in peopleโs lives.
Depression lifted. Relationships came into greater alignment. People found their voices, discovered gifts they had not fully claimed, heard God more clearly, and began living what they had previously only known intellectually.
One person remembered hearing me say during a Beyond Limits class years ago, โ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ ๐.โ She entered that class carrying the weight of her husbandโs Alzheimerโs diagnosis and the fear of becoming a caregiver. Over time, the heaviness lifted. She began to cherish her husband and the life they were living together.
Others spoke of walking through the doors and immediately knowing, โ๐๐โ๐ซ๐ ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐.โ
That is what Beloved Community feels like.
A multiracial, multigenerational community where people of different backgrounds, identities, abilities, careers, and life experiences came together and recognized the Divine in one another.
We did not have to hang a banner saying everyone was welcome. You could simply walk through the door and see it.
To everyone who helped create this sacred space, thank you. You are the evidence that when people are truly seen, welcomed, challenged, and loved, lives really do change.
Stay tuned for our next steps!
