Happy Mother’s Day from Camden UMC 💐

Today we give thanks for the women who have loved, nurtured, sacrificed, encouraged, prayed, and shown us glimpses of the love of God. We celebrate mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, spiritual mothers, and all the women who help shape our lives with grace and strength.

We also hold space for those for whom this day is complicated, marked by grief, longing, loss, or difficult memories. May you know that you are deeply loved today too.

Happy birthday to the United Methodist Church! It has been 58 years since the union of the Evangelical United Brethren and the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1968.

May we continue with hope, joy, and excitement, as God renews and revives the United Methodist Church over the next 50 years.

~~ Did you know... ~~

At a time when it seemed much of the world was violently splitting apart, a group of Wesleyan Christians peacefully and joyfully were coming together.

On April 23, 1968, two bishops followed by two children, two youths, two adults, six ordained ministers, two church officers and finally all 10,000 people present joined hands and repeated in unison:

“Lord of the church, we are united in thee, in thy church, and now in The United Methodist Church. Amen.”

Partnering with community businesses, like Kuster's Food Dairy, helps make the Camden Food Pantry possible.

With the community's support, we were able to help over 50 households and give away more than 1,600 lbs of food in our first two months.

We have a few items on our wish list that we are running low on. If you can donate one or a few, thank you!

HE IS RISEN. Happy Easter Sunday!

"He is risen" signifies the triumph of Jesus over death, the validation of his identity as the Son of God, and the hope of salvation and eternal life for all who believe in him.

Today we celebrate the triumph of love over sin, light over darkness, and life over death. Wishing you a blessed and joy-filled Easter Sunday!

Holy Saturday

Holy Saturday is the last day of Lent, and the day before Resurrection Sunday (Easter).

The hours of waiting to enter the tomb must have been filled with tears of sorrow, yet glimmers of hope that indeed Jesus would do as He said on the third day.
