Good Friday

Today we remember the darkest and most sacred day in human history.

After being betrayed, arrested, and denied by His own disciples, Jesus was brought before Pilate, beaten, mocked, and sentenced to death — despite being innocent of any crime.

He carried His cross to a hill called Golgotha, where He was crucified between two criminals. For six hours He hung on that cross. In His final moments He cried out “It is finished” — and breathed His last.

The sky went dark. The earth shook. The curtain in the temple tore in two.

So why do we call it Good Friday? Because what looked like the greatest tragedy was actually the greatest act of love the world has ever seen. He didn’t die because He had to. He died because He chose to — for us.

Today we don’t look away from the cross. We stand before it, and we remember the cost of our salvation.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

Maundy Thursday
Today we remember the final evening Jesus spent with His disciples before the cross. He gathered them for the Passover meal — what we now call the Last Supper — where He took bread and wine and said “Do this in remembrance of Me.”

But before they ate, Jesus did something that stunned them all. He knelt down and washed their feet. The Son of God, serving as a servant. He then gave them a new commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.”

The word Maundy comes from the Latin word for commandment — mandatum. This is the night of the new commandment.

After supper, Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, where He was betrayed by Judas and arrested.

The cross was now hours away…..

Today we remember — His love, His humility, and the sacrifice that was coming.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Matthew 21:10-11

This is Palm Sunday. The beginning of Holy Week! Let us remember who Jesus is! Not for what He has done but who He IS!
