Bushkill Community Church BCC is a welcoming community of faith made up of humble followers of Jesus. Come worship, connect, learn, and grow with us!

WHAT WE BELIEVE...
Believing the Bible to be our final authority for faith and Christian living, we affirm the following:

- That the universe is the purposeful creation of a personal, loving, almighty God.
- That all human beings are made in the image of the Creator and are of infinite worth.
- That our world is under the sway of sin as a result of a historical and a personal human re

bellion against God, so that suffering, death and separation from God are the experience of humankind; and that without the intervention of God's grace, this will be the eternal state of all persons.
- That Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, through his virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death on the Cross, and glorious resurrection and ascension, graciously offers new life to all who receive him by faith.
- That the Holy Spirit, indwelling believers, gives them a desire and an ability to follow biblical standards of conduct in their personal lives and in society.
- That the Christian faith is lived in the community of the church, where worship and witness are embodied through the spiritual gifts of its members.
- That Jesus Christ will return to this world, bring an end to history as we know it, inaugurate the final judgment, and welcome believers into his eternal kingdom.

Sunday, December 28, 2025:
Isaiah 43:8-13 Bring out the blind people who have eyes, and the deaf who have ears. Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled. Who among them can declare this, and show us former things? Let them bring out their witnesses, that they may be justified; Or let them hear and say, “It is truth.” “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no savior. I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, and there was no foreign god among you; Therefore you are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “that I am God. Indeed before the day was, I am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?”

Luke 1:46-55 And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”

Who is God to you?

Prayer: God. What does that word mean to you? What is your image? What are your feelings? Over and over, from the Old to the New Testament, we read of the power of God, but we also read of His enduring love and pursuit of us. We read of an almighty God who humbled Himself to come to Earth and walk among us to restore our relationship with Him, His most treasured creation. Power, humility and pursuit. Dear Lord, may we in turn, humbly come to You. May we continually pursue You in our thoughts, actions, and words and may we allow Your power to live in and through us instead of selfishly relying on our own devices and strength. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Ephesians 4:1-3 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

I John 4:7-11 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

I John 4:20-21 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
How do you love?

Prayer: Love. There is a lot of beauty in the word and warm feelings accompany it. But how well do we love? Oh, I don’t mean the flowery, romantic love, although that can add special touches to our relationships. But love is messy because we are messy people. Love takes sacrifice, humility, and forgiveness. This is why the above verses say God is love. If it had not been for Jesus’ humble descent to earth, His sacrificial life and unparalleled forgiveness, we would not know what truly encapsules love. God loves us in spite of our numerous sins and stubbornness to do as we wish. He hangs in there, constantly desiring and calling us to Him, to His love. He does not give up. So how do we model that love in our relationships? Dear Lord, thank you for loving us beyond measure and beyond what we deserve. Help us to love others in the same way. May Your love abound in our lives and relationships. In Jesus Name, Amen

Wednesday, December 24, 2025:

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke 23:33-43 And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots. And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.” The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.” And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

John 19:26-27 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.

Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last.

Your greatest Gift died for you.

Prayer: We celebrate His Birth because of His humble act of love on the cross for us so that we may truly live. May the deep love and depth of the reason for His birth embrace and grip our souls and impact our life forever.

God could have chosen any person or persons on the planet to announce the coming of Christ into our world. He didn't choose the rich, the powerful, the advantaged, or the best educated. Psalm 91:14-16 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Psalm 50:14-15 “Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

Psalm 27:7-8 Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Hebrews 13:15-16 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

God will bless the sacrifice of our praise.

Prayer: Sometimes, “everything” seems to be stripped away from us and we feel like we have lost so much, and yet even in the midst of that pain, God is there with us. Can you praise Him in the middle of that? That truly will feel like a sacrifice. But recognizing His faithfulness to you, His eternal promise that never fades, we can still cling to the hope of His devotion and provision for us in all circumstances. That is something to thank and praise Him for! Today, in the middle of your pain, thank and praise God that He is there with you. Thank Him for His tenderness and compassion. Praise Him for the eternal hope that He offers and delivers to us as we place our trust in Him, and rest, in the shadow of His wings.

Monday, December 22, 2025:

Isaiah 42:6-9 “I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house. I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images. Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.

”Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus

Prayer: What do you think of when you hear or when you say the Name, Jesus? What images come to mind? What feelings stir deep inside of you? My prayer for us all is that we would know how very real Jesus is in our lives. That we would know Him in the deepest and most personal way. That we would embrace “Emmanual- God WITH us”. That He would allow Him to be the light in our darkness and the hope in our dismay. That He would be the Saviour of our souls.

Friday, December 19, 2025:

Psalm 90:1-2 Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

Psalm 71:5-8 For You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth. By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You. I have become as a wonder to many, but You are my strong refuge. Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”

Isaiah 40:28-31 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
God has the strength to uphold you when your strength is weakened.

Prayer: As humans we only get a glimpse of time. We are limited in our strength, influence, and endurance. But God has been there from the start and has continued throughout all time and will continue for eternity. His faithfulness to you and His unconditional love are the foundation and support beams of our lives when we allow Him to be. When you feel overwhelmed, discouraged, beaten… allow Him to be your refuge. Go to Him in prayer and pour out your heart to the one who gave it to you. Find rest and be renewed in the shadow of His wings.
