It truly is fitting. On a day when we remember those who sacrificed so much for earthly freedom, we also celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2; the birth of the Church and the freedom we have in Christ.

There is something powerful about remembering both together:
one reminds us of the cost of liberty, and the other reminds us of the power and promise God gave to His people.

Just as Memorial Day calls us to honor those who went before us, Pentecost Sunday reminds us that we are standing on the prayers, obedience, and faith of those who carried the Gospel before us. Because of their sacrifice and because of God’s Spirit, we can gather freely, worship boldly, and continue the mission of the Church today.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” - John 15:13

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost…” - Acts 2:4

May we never take either freedom for granted.

What started in an upper room became a movement that LITERALLY changed the world. The same Spirit poured out in Acts 2 is still moving today. Filling lives. Transforming hearts. Empowering people. This isn’t just history. This is still happening. Praying that every church experiences this TODAY!
