Grand Knight Lawton receives a congratulatory certificate from the Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly acknowledging 25 years for our Council. Family of the month goes to our worthy recorder, Ron Faquet. We held our Council meeting last evening with DGK Dave "purple haze" at the helm. Dave did an outstanding job and you can tell he is ready to be GK next year. Barry Ryan, Steve Delaney and I finalized the 6 month council budget. Barry also made sure to keep everyone smiling with his chicken wing hat.

I am sure most of you read Father DeCelles Pastors Corner in the August 24th bulletin. Father DeCelles writes about the use of Latin at St. Raymonds and the reverence we show for the Mass and particularly the Holy Eucharist. We are blessed to have such a beautiufl parish that honors tradition and the doctrine of the faith. For those who would like to up their game, I highly recommend attending the TLM (Traditional Latin Mass) at John the Beloved in McLean. The Mass is held at 12pm on Sundays. It is about 90 minutes and it is beyond beautiul.

On Monday August 11th, we had our first exemplification of the new fiscal year. It was a very moving ceremony with inductees and family members in attendance. We were graced by having State Deputy Trey Hart in attendance. He asked the new Knights to stand up and say a little about themselves. The most moving was the first Knight who gave a heart felt testimony of his faith and what the Knights of Columbus means to him. Vivat Jesus!

Well it has certainly been awhile. Jumping back to keep Council 12846 in the know with all the good that the Knights do for our church, parish and community. What a beautiful day it was for our mini-pilgrimage to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land.

What more can be said about St. John Bosco Council #12846 but "we talk the talk and walk the walk" Our WGK Mark Menotti and Financial Secretary Phil Bettwy present a check for $20,000 to Tepeyac Clinic for a new ultrasound machine. I imagine a 33 year old beautiful young man or woman will approach one of us in heaven to thank us for doing this. As our WGK stated in his email, every time you volunteer you are helping build funds for purposes like this. Vivat Jesus! Salve Regina! Ite Ad Joseph!
