New Life Recovery meets every Thursday night at Rockhill Baptist Church, at the West Campus at 6:30 to 7:30.
Come to a meeting where you will be encouraged, to take the next step to recovery. An addiction is something that has control over your life, Let God, Let Go! Only God can help you. The 12 steps are shared in these meetings, surround yourself with people who have these same struggles, they are finding strength, hope and friendship in these meetings. Go back to the basics of recovery, take the first step.

Addiction is a monster that will not stop. You think that you can handle it, and before you know it you are a slave to fill in the blank.

What does the recovery process look like?
1. We learn to identify our problem. Powerlessness
2. Now that we have identified the problem, what is our solution?

Solution
The power of the fellowship of the group that supports us, and the power of the vital spiritual experience ( a result from working and applying the 12-Steps in our daily lives), which changes us bringing about recovery from a seemingly hopeless of mind and body.

Call2recovery is growing, and Lord willing it will continue to grow. We have leaders that are so passionate because they, too have been there in one way or another.
Here at Call2Recovery we end the meeting by telling you to keep coming back because it works if you work it.

Our home group is based out of our church, Rockhill Baptist Church, West campus. Numbers are low but addiction is definitely not. In fact it is running rampage. Our doors are open to everyone who wants a new way of living. Drugs destroy marriages, families, but there is hope when God is in it. And God is definitely number one reason people finally recover. You might come in the backwards about it, and that is ok. I promise you will find Jesus in our meetings.

Thought for the Day

People believe in A.A. when they see it work. An actual demonstration is what convinces them. What they read in books, what they hear people say doesn't always convince them. But when they see a real honest to goodness change take place in a person, a change from a drunkard to a sober, useful citizen, that's something they can believe because they can see it. There's really only one thing that proves to me that A.A. works. Have I seen the change in people who come into A.A.?

Meditation for the Day
Divine control and unquestioning obedience to God are the only conditions necessary for a spiritual life. Divine control means absolute faith and trust in God, a belief that God is the Divine Principle in the universe and that He is the Intelligence and the Love that controls the universe. Unquestioning obedience to God means living each day the way you believe God wants you to live, constantly seeking the guidance of God in every situation and being willing to do the right thing at all times.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may always be under Divine Control and always practice unquestioning obedience to God. I pray that I may be always ready to serve Him.

Thought for the Day

Having surrendered our lives to God and put our drink problem in His hands doesn't mean that we'll never be tempted to drink. So we must build up strength for the time when temptation will come. In this quiet time, we read and pray and get our minds in the right mood for the day. Starting the day right is a great help in keeping sober. As the days go by and we get used to the sober life, it gets easier and easier. We begin to develop a deep gratitude to God for saving us from that old life. And we begin to enjoy peace and serenity and quiet happiness. Am I trying to live the way God wants me to live?

Meditation for the Day
The elimination of selfishness is the key to happiness and can only be accomplished with God's help. We start out with a spark of the Divine Spirit but a large amount of selfishness. As we grow and come in contact with other people, we can take one of two paths. We can become more and more selfish and practically extinguish the Divine Spark within us, or we can become more unselfish and develop our spirituality until it becomes the most important thing in our lives.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may grow more and more unselfish, honest, pure, and loving. I pray that I may take the right path every day.

I walk by this tree when I walk during lunch. Bless it! “Are you gonna make it tree? You look like there’s been some hard days out here in this winter. I get it. Same here.” I see some of your branches broken on the ground. Must have been the hail and storm a few weeks back. No leaves budding yet. Smart. If we’re going to get snow it’ll be now! Crazy Texas weather. “Tree? Do you wish you were planted somewhere sunnier? Somewhere easier? I do.” I stare a bit longer. I must look a little crazy talking to this tree, so I continue walking. I keep thinking of the tree. A thought grows in my mind. Tree looks rough but it’s still standing. “You go tree! Stand firm!” Interesting. I ponder this as I make my way back to this tree, “How are you standing firm because you look pretty beat up tree?” A still small voice whispers to me. God’s usual way when I’m out in nature. “Look to what’s unseen….seek out the invisible.” Unseen? Invisible? My eyes scan the tree from its top branch to the ground. Pondering. The ground. Its roots!!! “Oh tree! Your roots must go very deep indeed! Look at you! You’ve got hidden in the dirt the best part of you!” I hear God’s whisper again, “Daughter, you do too. Remain in me. Keep building up your life by digging deeper into my words and pressing closer into me. Storms will come. You might get beat up but I won’t let you fail. ‘I AM’ holds you like I do this tree. You mean so much more than it tho, but like this tree stands firm….so must you.”

Life is full of challenges and obstacles that leave us feeling overwhelmed and discouraged. But if we view obstacles as stepping stones, we can unlock our creativity and find innovative solutions to problems. There is always an opportunity in every challenge.
