It is with deep sorrow that we extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Madam Edith Nawakwi, President of the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD). Zambia has lost a trailblazer, a courageous leader, and a devoted servant of the nation. Her contributions to the political landscape, particularly as the first woman to serve as Minister of Finance, paved the way for many.

We stand in solidarity with her family, the FDD party, and all those who were touched by her vision and commitment to national development. May her legacy continue to inspire generations to come.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
