This is Day 2 of the Journey 3HREE 6IX 5IVE

Day 2 In The Beginning Part 1

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God……..”

The Bible is God’s story, from the beginning into eternity. Not my story. Not your story. His story. You and I just have a bit part in the overall story; from the beginning to the end and beyond. As big as Universal pictures may be - they could never tell His story. Sure, they will attempt to tell the story but it will be written to sell theater tickets - not necessarily truth. Don’t believe me? Read God’s story for yourself. His story is not a one and done. Read it again and again. Put yourself in the story. Jump in!!! You have books on your shelf you may have read once and now they sit collecting dust. But God’s story is different. This story contains revelation after revelation every time you read it.

The truth of the matter, His story is still being written. And now, You and I find ourselves in the same chapter. I’m glad we have the opportunity to do life together. We can benefit from one another and encourage one another other along the way.

This is God’s story not Your story. So the question you to ask yourself - Am I letting God write my story? Or are you trying to write your story into the history of this present world? I encourage you to let God write your story. It will be your greatest challenge in life. I can tell you your story is much more exciting if you let Him write it.

His story is Alive! Active! It brings life. It is life. Wow, what a story. This story will feed you, comfort you, challenge you, empower you and more. This story will also cut you while bringing healing to your very heart, mind and soul. It is the very Word of God.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Don’t be afraid. This Word is commanding, full of truth and overflowing with promise. This Word will save you. Trust it, follow it, guard it. Hide this (His story) Word in your heart. Learn it, memorize it, stand on it, declare it to the world. If you need an answer for life - God’s Word is the place to look. If you wonder what you’re supposed to do. - look to God’s Word.

2 Timothy 3:16 -17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

I am writing again. Here is a sample of something I’ve been working on. Based on the book of John. John chapter 5

Thirty-eight years.

That is how long I had been lying beside the waters of Bethesda. Thirty-eight years of watching other men walk — watching them carry their children on their shoulders, watching them climb stairs, watching them simply stand in the market and argue about the price of figs. Things I had forgotten how to want.

The pool was a strange kind of hope. Five covered colonnades, always crowded with the sick, the blind, the lame. We had all heard the story: at certain times, an angel would stir the water, and whoever entered first would be healed. So we waited. Every day, we waited. We became experts in waiting.

I was never first. My body would not obey me, and I had no one — no friend, no family, no one to carry me to the edge when the water began to move. Every time it stirred, someone else got there before me. Every time, I would sink back onto my mat and stare at the sky and count the clouds and think: perhaps tomorrow.

Tomorrow had come and gone ten thousand times.

Then one Sabbath, a man came and stood over me. I had seen many men stand over me. Usually they were looking for someone else. But this man looked at me — not with pity, not with disgust, not with the vague discomfort the healthy feel around the suffering. He looked at me as if he already knew everything about me and had come specifically, deliberately, for me alone.
He asked me a question I had never been asked before.

“Do you want to be healed?”

It sounds simple. It should have been simple. But I found, to my shame, that I didn’t know how to answer it. I had been sick so long that my sickness had become my explanation for everything — why my life was small, why I had nothing, why I was here on this mat and not somewhere else. The question cut deeper than he perhaps intended.

I gave him the only answer I knew. I told him what I always told people: I have no one to put me in the water. Someone always gets there before me. It was my testimony, rehearsed and polished. My excuse. My identity.

He didn’t argue with me. He didn’t explain the mechanics of what was about to happen. He simply said:
“Get up. Pick up your mat and walk.”
And I did.

I do not know how else to say it. My legs — which had been nothing to me, dead weight, strangers — filled with life. Not gradually. Not with effort. Instantly, completely, like a lamp lit in a dark room. I stood up. I picked up the mat I had slept on for nearly four decades and I walked away from that pool.
I didn’t even know his name.

The religious authorities stopped me almost immediately. It was the Sabbath, they said. It was unlawful to carry my mat. They were not interested in the fact that I was walking. They were not interested in thirty-eight years of paralysis ending in a moment. They wanted to know who had told me to pick up my mat.

I didn’t know what to tell them. The man had slipped away into the crowd.

Later, I found him in the temple. I learned his name was Jesus. He said something to me that I have turned over in my mind ever since: “You are well now. Stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you.”
I am still not entirely sure what he meant. I have thought about whether my suffering had anything to do with sin — mine, or anyone’s. I do not know. What I know is that he found me again, in that temple, and he did not have to. He had already given me everything. But he came back, as if the healing of my body was only the first half of something.

I told the authorities it was Jesus who had healed me. I have wondered since whether that was the right thing to do — whether I betrayed him somehow, handed his name to men who already wanted to harm him. I told myself I was only answering their question. Perhaps I was.

But I walk now. Every morning I wake up and my feet touch the floor and I stand, and I think about that voice, and those words, so plain and so absolute:
Get up.
Pick up your mat.
Walk.
And I do.

Men on several occasions I’ve challenged men to pray WITH their wives everyday. Hug them and pray over them. It’s a game changer.

If it’s not a habit, you might experience pushback. Stay the course. Start with the hug, that should be a given. Then start praying. Over time you’ll get better.

Pray what? Blessing, favor, protection, opportunity, wisdom, etc.

Here’s a sample: Day 42: Virtue (Part 1)

Key Verse: 2 Peter 1:5 “For this reason make every effort to add to your faith goodness;”

Spiritual growth takes effort. It requires you to engage actively, not passively wait for change to happen. These virtues, beginning with goodness, reflect God’s character and should be a deep desire for those who follow Him.

The word “add” here goes beyond simple arithmetic. In the original Greek, the verb epichorēgeō means “to provide, supply, or furnish generously—at one’s own expense.” This implies that investing your time and energy into cultivating godly virtues is a personal and intentional sacrifice………

Men have a responsibility to take the lead in advancing God’s Kingdom, but how can we do that when most men are high-centered in the daily life of simply being a leader of their family, a leader at work or in their community, walking in authority over their health and finances… God has called us to more.

Journey 3HREE 6IX 5IVE exists in order to put men on a consistent diet of God’s Word and to position them to activate what God has given them. It’s not just about having the Arrow… It’s about knowing how to use the Bow in order to send the arrow to its target.... Then it’s about building the discipline and muscle memory so you can become accurate in any given situation. Aim Small - Miss Small. Here are some details.

We’re building a legacy of Freedom, Authority, and Momentum for Men of God.

This ministry has had a huge impact on the lives of the men that have jumped on board. What I’m asking of you is to consider how this could impact your life personally and then to think of the men around you who need this too.

Are you ready?

Your Journey starts here.
