There is something that has been on my heart lately. It is a trend that I see happening and to me it is disturbing. Over the last year, or maybe two, there has been a rise in division among the church. This division is not always over differences in beliefs. It is not always a division in between denominations. Yes, it is sometimes those things, and they are really things that we should not be arguing over. Those are things we should get past and concentrate on building the kingdom and not tearing others down. There needs to be unity among the brethren.
The main point to all that is the tearing down of each other. All you have to do is to scan social media and you will find some who have built their entire ministry on tearing down their brother or sister or even other ministries in total. It is all over FB, YT and anywhere else that you could look. Paul tells us that if we see another believer in sin or that is in the wrong that we should go to them privately. No where does it say to blast it to everyone everywhere. When I see this, it saddens me. More importantly, it breaks God's heart. The word teaches us how to handle situations like this, and we should follow those teachings.
The Holy Spirit gives us the gift of discernment, and we have to learn to listen to it and use it. Discernment will keep us from falling into the trap of division and division is what keeps us from fulfilling the work that is set before us. Why do you think Satan is leading so many down the path of division?
