Shenandoah Valley Church of the Wild is an emerging expression of community among the human and non-human inhabitants of the Shenandoah River and North River watersheds, a church without walls on the edges of wilderness and civilization. Our teachers are the Black Oak and the Eastern Cottonwood, the Cardinals and Finches, the ancient lichen and the black stone, our own souls and one another. Recog

nizing the sacred in all of creation, we listen into the Living Conversation moving through all things as a pathway to personal wholeness and societal transformation. We meet once per month at Hone Quarry Campground, about 30 minutes from the Harrisonburg area.

Amid the chaos... Spring Equinox Blessings! "This day brings light and dark into perfect balance. Not as an abstraction, but as a felt truth in the soil, in the song of the birds, in the particular quality of this morning's light. The Celtic wheel names this threshold Alban Eiler, the Light of the Earth, a moment when the green world does not ask permission to return. It simply returns." Read more on our website.

In this time in-between things, the dark and the light, chaos and new order, join us to connect with the earth's wisdom and your own.

We gather in this threshold time, in-between the dark and light in equal measure.

Is your heart yearning for a new world based on the values of interconnection, care, compassion and inclusion? You're invited to attend a different kind of Wild Church experience. Part of remembering and living into our deep interconnection with an animate earth, is also remembering the greater body of the cosmos that holds our planet and everything in it.

I've spent time over the past few years learning the ancient art of archetypal astrology (which could take a lifetime to fully understand) and apply this wisdom that streams between the stars & planets, the earth, humanity and our own personal lives. I see this as part of ecospirituality rooted in both the earth, as people of the earth, and in the heavens, as people of the stars. Our DNA contains particles of stardust and humus. Spirit and matter.

If you're curious about the relationship between the planetary movements in the sky and life here on earth, join me in exploring how this unfolds in historical events, including in the here and now, and in your unique lived experience.

There will be a rare exact conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in 0 point Aries on February 20-21. We will gather around this event and what this opens up as potential in human history in birthing the new world our hearts most long for.

Read more about it on our website and RSVP to receive the Zoom link. And save the date for our in-person Equinox celebration on March 15th!

Join me for an online "pop-up Wild Church" rooted in the earth's interconnection with the cosmos.

I so seldom post here so am not sure the algorithms will pick this up! But for locals, here’s an invitation to join us on February 1st for the Celtic fire festival of Imbolc. These gatherings aren’t just fluffy spiritual practice, they are offered in service to the future world we want to exist in. A world rooted in reciprocity, love and the reality of our interconnection. The world that is emerging through all of us in relationship with the living earth.

Imbolc, St Brigid's Day, invites us to contemplate and embody the divine feminine within ourselves and in the earth and her creatures.

Join us if you are anywhere near Rockingham County for Samhain, the Celtic new year and entry into this threshold season between fall and winter. Action and stillness. What has been and what is yet emerging. If interested, you’ll need to register for the location info. All are welcome!

A gathering to be present to this time of the year as the light fades and holy dark invites us in to re-member and honor our ancestors and lineages.

Join us in remembering and honoring the powerful legacy of Brigid for this time we are in. Brigid is the bright light of hope and solidarity in Ireland and for those who resonate with a Celtic spirituality. Regardless of your ancestry, heritage, culture, or belief systems, we participate in the energy of this day in respect for the way of the feminine, the way of the earth, a relational connected way of engaging the disruption, upheaval and destruction we see and the new world that is emerging. Join us by RSVPing. All are welcome.

The sacred flame of Brigid is said to have been burning continuously since pre-Christian times, only extinguished by the powers of church and state during times of suppression, oppression and dismantling.

Join us for the Celtic threshold into Samhain, the seasonal shift between fall equinox and winter solstice. Like the autumn leaves falling, this is a time of release and endings. The end of upward and outward growth into a deepening down to the roots. A time when the veil is thin between worlds, we offer gratitude and listen for ancestors, both through blood lineages and spiritual and of the land where we live.

What is ending that no longer serves you? What no longer serves the whole? What grief needs tending? What can we release to make room for what is yet emerging? These are questions we sit with together. Join us. More info and RSVP.

A gorgeous poem reflecting on the Auroras by an incredibly gifted poet who is part of The Ecosystem, an online platform I colluded with others to create last year. It's open to anyone who is drawn to the sacred intersection between ecology and spirituality, nature and spirit. This poet, Chris Isa Muscat, will be one of four poets who will be sharing a poem and opening conversation around poetry and wild spirituality. Join us! You'll find the event listed under "Events" in The Ecosystem. Follow the link to sign up (for free) for The Ecosystem, and read Chris' poem.

Beltane, “Bright Fire,” the Gaelic May Day, has ancient origins as an agricultural and cultural time of pasturing and renewal. One of the four cross-quarter fire festivals, Beltane honors the seasonal threshold into summer, celebrating the fecund earth, the flowering and blossoming of the earth, including animals and humans. The energy of growth, abundance, fertility, relationship.

What is blossoming within you? What have you been holding back that is ready to fully come forth? Now’s the time!

I'll be conversing with friend and colleague Leah Rampy today to hear about her new book, Earth & Soul: Reconnecting Amid Climate Chaos. You're invited to join the conversation! Link in comments to get the Zoom link on The Ecosystem, the platform of the Wild Church Network. It's free to join, you'll just need to your name and email address. Leah is a colleague in the Wild Church movement, a retreat leader steeped in contemplative practice, and formerly the Executive Director of Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. She moved with her husband David to Shepherdstown, WV in 2018 where they live in a cohousing community, and started Church of the Wild Two Rivers in 2019.

This is a beautiful book that delves into the realities of the times we are living and offers something like resilient hope, in touch with the living world through relationship and shifting our perception. If you can't come, at least get a copy of the book as your favorite online bookseller!
