Share the Warmth My Eagle Scout Project is collecting boots, coats, hats, mittens and gloves for the Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiatives at United Congregational Church

For my Eagle Scout Project, I am collecting winter boots, hats, coats, mittens and gloves, for the Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiatives at United Congregational Church on Park Avenue in Bridgeport, CT. My goal is to collect at least 500 winter coats, 500 pairs of winter boots, 500 winter hats, and 500 pairs of winter gloves and/or mittens. Collection day is November 14 at the church, from 10 am to 2 pm, and the items collected will be distributed at the Church's Thanksgiving Day Dinner.

The West End Community is in constant need of warm clothes in the winter months. Please consider gathering your outgrown winter gear, and gathering your neighbors to do the same, and make a donation to the Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach at UCC on corner of Park & State in Bpt.

Please consider donating any coats you are not using. This is the same place where "Share The Warmth" donated winter gear to last year.

Can you help our neighbors stay warm this winter by donating a coat?

What a beautiful note we received about our Thanksgiving feast!

Thank you to all who donated their time, efforts - and turkeys - to serve about 500 meals to our neighbors!

Here's the final counted totals, but also had a few bags dropped off Tuesday that were put right into the car and not counted. Unfortunately, didn't reach my goal on the boots or mittens/gloves, but still keeping a lot of people warm. On Thanksgiving, just about all the boots went (hard to get the right sizes for who needed them), and I don't think there was a pair of gloves left. Please keep United Congregational Church and Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiatives in mind when looking for places to donate items or time to.

What a great day today at United Congregational Church, helping people shop for winter gear and enjoy a great meal. Helped a lot of people, who were just great, and whatever is left over will go to their Clothing Closet which is held every Sunday.
