Our Dream

"Ever since I began practicing mindfulness in a monastery, I have dreamed of creating a thriving intentional mindfulness community for lay practitioners, where people can live while practicing mindfulness together harmoniously, and share this gift with so many others." - David

"Three years ago, while living and working in Thailand, I realized how important it is to create the communit

ies we truly wish to see in the world. Places where people can live simply, sustainably and more harmoniously with themselves, each other, and the world." - Vanessa

We at Sanghabuild take a clear stance against all forms of violence and oppression including all the recent police murders of George Floyd, Breanna Taylor, David McAtee, Tony McDade, and the modern day lynching of Ahmaud Arbery. As well as so many others known and unknown.

We see you, we honor you, we stand with you, and we pledge to continue fighting for racial justice and equality. Thank you for taking a stand with us.

Taking one for Mother Earth was quite freeing, and especially because I was joined by amazing friends like Brother Phap Man/ Aaron Solomon, Shea Riester and many others.
Here's my story about the event and practicing meditation in jail together....

This is the ancient tree that is just outside where Thich Nhat Hanh is residing at Tu Hieu root temple, in Vietnam. A magnificent old tree, very fitting for a beloved Zen Master.
