𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐃:
We are looking for the following volunteers:
𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫:
11:45 AM -12:30 PM: Lego Logic teacher/supervisor, this position allows the students to be creative in Lego building. We have lesson plans for each class or you may create your own. In this hands-on class, students complete fun building challenges that develop logical thinking, pattern recognition, spatial awareness, and creativity. Through guided builds and open-ended play, kids strengthen problem-solving skills while working independently and with others.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Game On instructor, this class is an active, high-energy class centered around classic and creative games that get kids moving. Students will enjoy favorites like dodgeball, gaga ball, Twister, relay games, and other movement-based activities. This class encourages physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and listening skills—all while having fun.
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Photojournalism instructor - This course introduces students to the fundamentals of photojournalism through hands-on, project-based learning. During the first half of the semester, students will collaborate on the creation of the school yearbook. They will learn basic photography techniques, visual storytelling, layout and graphic design principles, and the workflow involved in producing a professional-quality yearbook.
The second half of the semester will focus on photojournalism. Students will develop photo-driven articles covering co-op events, student life, and current topics. Emphasis will be placed on ethical journalism, composition, interviewing, writing concise articles, and selecting images that tell accurate and compelling stories.
𝐂𝐨-𝐎𝐩 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 & 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 (𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬) 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝:
All positions listed below are volunteer roles that support the daily and long-term functioning of our co-op. Some responsibilities may be completed remotely (such as planning, communication, budgeting, scheduling, or coordination), while certain duties require in-person presence during co-op days.
𝐂𝐨-𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫
Reports to: Director
Commitment: Weekly (Sundays/Mondays), plus intermittent support
Overview: The Co-Director assists with operational leadership, teacher support, and co-op oversight. This role helps set up on Sundays or before co-op begins on Mondays and handles issues that arise during the day. The individual in this position is expected to transition into the Director role within approximately two years.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director with planning, coordination, and daily operations
• Help with Sunday evening or Monday morning set-up
• Support teachers with logistical or classroom needs
• Troubleshoot issues during co-op hours
• Serve in place of the Director when needed
• Participate in leadership planning and decisions
• Contribute to a positive, organized, and collaborative environment
Remote-Friendly Tasks:
Planning, communication, scheduling, and administrative work may be completed remotely.
𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐔𝐩 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭
Reports to: Front Desk Manager and Director
Commitment: As needed; covers absences or busy front-desk times
Overview:
The Back-Up Front Desk Assistant helps maintain a safe and organized check-in/check-out process when the Front Desk Manager is unavailable or requires assistance.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee student sign-in and sign-out
• Answer questions from parents, teachers, and students
• Request assistance from the Director or leadership as needed
• Support the Front Desk Manager with daily operations
𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫
Reports to: Director
Commitment: Weekly and as needed
Overview:
The Teacher Coordinator serves as the main point of contact for teacher needs. This role involves assisting teachers, managing supplies, overseeing budgets ethically, and coordinating substitute coverage.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a support person for teacher questions and needs
• Purchase, track, and manage classroom supplies
• Handle supply budgets with strong ethical standards
• Coordinate substitute teachers and maintain substitute availability lists
• Support new teachers and help with orientation
Remote-Friendly Tasks:
Budget tracking, communication, planning, substitute coordination, and online purchasing can be handled remotely.
𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫
Reports to: Director
Commitment: Variable, based on event schedule
Overview:
The Event Coordinator organizes monthly field trips, Parent Night Out events, co-op celebrations, and school-wide parties and lunches. This position promotes community building through well-planned and efficient events.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and coordinate field trips
• Organize Parent Night Out events
• Plan co-op-wide parties and celebrations
• Coordinate special lunches and related logistics
• Create communication such as sign-ups, event details, and reminders
Remote-Friendly Tasks:
Planning, scheduling, coordination, communication, and sign-up creation can all be done remotely. Would need to be present for events.
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫
Reports to: Head Security Officer and Director
Commitment: Weekly during co-op hours
Overview:
Security Officer supports safety efforts by monitoring the school perimeter, checking in on teachers and classrooms, and assisting the Head Security Officer throughout the co-op day.
Responsibilities:
• Walk the perimeter and monitor indoor/outdoor safety
• Check on teachers and classroom conditions
• Report safety concerns to leadership
• Assist with emergency responses or procedures
The Director will provide full guidance, training, and ongoing support to all individuals in these volunteer roles. Volunteers will have direct access to leadership for questions and assistance throughout the year.
