We remember and honor the sacrifice of those that gave their lives for this great nation so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today.

Galatians 4:6 (NKJV) And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

We don’t have to earn our position as a son, we don’t have to fear that the father might get upset and reject or abandon us. He said I will never leave you nor abandon you. We are fully accepted and approved children of God — God himself brought us into His household and approved our place in His family. Not by our efforts, not by striving, but by the spirit of adoption.
