Society of Santa Maria, Di Anzano, Boston, Mass The Society of Santa Maria Di Anzano was founded in 1905 in Boston by Italian immigrants from the town of Anzano, Puglia, Foggia who came to America.

The Society of Santa Maria Di Anzano was founded in 1905 in Boston by Italian immigrants from the town of Anzano, Puglia, Foggia who came to America and settled in Boston's North End and surrounding towns. The Society continues to celebrate the Blessed Mother on the first Sunday of June with a Mass, a social time before and after the Mass and highlights the day with a procession thru the streets of the North End with the Beautiful Statue of our Blessed Mother, members and marching bands. The Society continues this tradition to bring the Blessed Mother to the people. We also have a Christmas banquet in December and various get togethers with members. You will also find our members through out the summer in the North End and Cambridge, Mass helping celebrate with our friends from other religious Societies on their feast days.

The society would like to extend very good wishes to our friends from the following two feast that will be taken place this coming weekend. First the feast of Saint Rosalia in the North end. This feast will be held on SATURDAY, Sept 12th and has the schedule listed of it events, which includes the mass and grand procession. Saint Rosalia officially ends the North End religious society feast season till June of 2027.

Several streets away from the North End and over the bridge to Cambridge, the Society honoring Saint Cosmas and Damian will be celebrating their patron saints for the 101st time. There will be plenty of entertainment, food and rides and games for the kids. Each night there will be a procession with the saints and the grand procession will be on Sunday. They are expecting beautiful weather this week, right into the weekend. So go and enjoy the last chance of our societies celebrating our faith and culture in the North End in Cambridge.

The Society extends its good wishes to the Saint Lucy and Saint Anthony societies on their upcoming feast in celebration of their patron saints. On Thursday, the lovely ladies of St Lucy will start the celebration at 5PM. St Lucy will come out of her chapel for her procession through the streets of the North End, where at the end, she will be placed in her temporary chapel till Friday Evening. On Friday, after a small procession, she will return home and the statue of Saint Anthony will come out of the his chapel which will start the three day celebration in his honor. The total four day feast is on Endicott street near Commercial street.

The society extends its very good wishes to our sister Society who also honors our Blessed Mother. The Madonna Del Soccorso Di Sciacca Society will be celebrating their annual feast in her honor starting this coming Thursday at the corners of Lewis and North streets for a four day celebration. This is the last of the four celebrations in honor of the holy Mother in Boston’s North End by Societies.

Special Notice for members: The annual mass in honor of Saint Rocco Di Anzano will be held on Sunday, August 16th at 10:30 in Saint Leonards Church.

The society extends its good wishes to the San Rocco society on its 105th feast in his honor in Boston’s North End this coming Sunday.

The annual Italian Mass begins at 10:30AM at St. Leonard’s Church. At 1PM , the procession with St Rocco will start at Prince and Hanover streets

The religious Feast of Saint Rocco has been celebrated in Boston’s famous North End since 1921. This tradition was begun by Italian immigrants whose origin is San Nicola, Baronia, Italy.

We extend our good wishes to our Paisans from the Society of Madonna Delle Grazie who will be celebrating their annual feast in honor of the Blessed Mother this coming Sunday, July 12th in Boston’s North End. There will be a 10:30 Italian mass in her honor at St Leonard’s church and procession of the Blessed Mother will start at 2PM from the church, Hanover and Prince streets.
