I was deeply s@ddened and cried when I heard the leaked audio concerning Apostle Sam Okpe and Apostle Chikere Nwafor. It's disheartening to think that even new believers might not engage in such immoral behaviors. I wondered if people would still believe in the authenticity of Christianity after hearing such things. However, I am consoled by the biblical truth that the church is marching on, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
In the comment section, some people tried to defend them by saying that everyone has sinned, quoting the verse, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." However, they failed to complete the passage, which includes Jesus telling the adulterous woman, "Go and sin no more," meaning she should not continue in her sin. They also seem to have forgotten Romans 6:1-2, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"
It's important to remember that these individuals are supposed to be men of God, and therefore, acting contrary to God's word is deceptive. It makes me question if these so-called pastors are even true Christians. I pray for their salvation because I cannot understand how a pastor could be involved in smoking w**d, drinking alcohol, and committing adultery and fornication, as in the case of Apostle Chikere Nwafor. While some, like Sam Okpe, may have avoided the w**d and alcohol, they still participated in adultery and fornication.
This situation has opened my eyes to the reality that just as some people start companies or schools solely to make money, some individuals start churches as a business without a genuine calling from God. It's truly disheartening.
However, I want to emphasize that there are still genuine pastors and Christians today. Do not be discouraged in your Christian faith.
Remember the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 18, where he tells the people, "I am the only one of the LORD's prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets" (1 Kings 18:22). Later, feeling disheartened, he tells God, "I am the only one left" (1 Kings 19:10). But God assures him in 1 Kings 19 that He has reserved 7,000 in Israel who have not bowed to Baal (1 Kings 19:18).
