One of the 21 martyrs in 2015 that were beheaded for their faith in Christ in Libya was from Ghana; the other 20 were from Egypt. The man from Ghana was not yet baptized, but he received the baptism of blood…and went straight to Heaven. Now a new Catholic parish in Texas is named after him.

This is the interior of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in 1900. It burned down in 1932 and the present church was built in 1934 upon the original 1869 stone foundations. This picture is a page from an excellent book that I found, “The Illustrated History of McLean County” published in 1982 (printed and bound in Bloomington) by the McLean County Historical Society. I say it’s a must-read for McLean County residents. It is really well done.
