I’m bringing deviled eggs, and mom and dad are bringing fresh garden green beans and a pone of cornbread.

I would like to let everyone who has family buried at the Dixon cemetery know that the memorial meeting will be held there on Sunday, August 10th, 2025. Everyone is invited, preachers encouraged to join us. Please bring a covered dish for the potluck following services. Singing begins at 9:30.

Annual Memorial Service, Sunday, August 11 at Dixon Cemetery at Carcassonne. A little birdie told me singing usually begins around 9:30 a.m., with services beginning at 10:00 a.m.. Potluck lunch to follow. Please bring your favorite dish. Plates, napkins, and flatware will be provided.

A few of us will be gathering on Saturday, August 10 around 11:00 a.m. to help ready the shelter, tables and chairs for the memorial service and potluck. Anyone willing and able to help are encouraged to come on out. Starting early so we have time to finish and get freshened up for the Carcassonne Square Dance later that evening. Tools needed should be basic. Brooms, gas or battery leaf blower, wash tub, soap, water, rags, and brushes. The weather looks to be amazing both Saturday and Sunday.

Also, we are soliciting another $150 in donations to have the cemetery mowed and ready for services. It was mowed a few days ago, but with all the rain, it will need a good mowing a few days before. Donations will also be collected at the conclusion of services.

And finally, we are seeking volunteers to help ready the shelter, tables and chairs for the memorial services. Anyone able to help should be at the cemetery on Saturday, August 10 by 11am. Gotta have time to finish and get freshened up for the Carcassonne Square Dance that evening. Tools needed should be basic. Brooms, gas or battery leaf blower, wash tub, soap, water, rags, and brushes. If inclement weather is given for Saturday, we will try backing up to Thursday or Friday evening.

The cemetery is soliciting donations from loved ones of those buried to pay for summer upkeep. We take donations year round, but they are especially needed from April to October.

I want to thank everyone that has sent donations so far this spring. It's been a big help and the cemetery should be in wonderful shape for Memorial Day Weekend.
Several of you wrote wonderful letters, and I'll do my best to reply, by letter as well, as soon as I can. Again, thank you for your help.
