“If you chew your food but don’t swallow it, you’ll starve.
The same applies to God’s Word.
If you read it but don’t apply it, you’ll starve spiritually.”

Knowledge alone does not produce growth.

You can read Scripture every day.
Highlight verses.
Listen to sermons.
Memorize passages.

But if God's Word never moves from your mind into your life, its purpose remains incomplete.

And honestly, many people know what the Bible says, yet struggle to live what it teaches.

It's one thing to read about forgiveness.
It's another thing to forgive someone who hurt you.

It's one thing to read about trust.
It's another thing to trust God when life feels uncertain.

It's one thing to read about love.
It's another thing to show love when it's difficult.

That is where spiritual growth truly happens.

Not merely in hearing God's Word, but in obeying it.

The beautiful thing is this:

Every time you apply God's truth, your faith becomes stronger.

You begin experiencing His peace instead of only reading about it.
You begin walking in His wisdom instead of merely admiring it.
You begin seeing His promises come alive in your daily life.

And honestly, spiritual maturity is not measured by how much Scripture you know.

It is measured by how much Scripture shapes the way you live.

So don't just read God's Word.

Meditate on it.
Believe it.
Live it.

Let it influence your decisions, your relationships, your attitude, and your priorities.

Because just as food nourishes the body when it is received and digested, God's Word nourishes the soul when it is embraced and applied.

The goal is not simply to know the truth.

The goal is to live it.

Sitting in the icu playing worship music and doing bible study…

I was reading Genesis 33 and something jumped right off the page at me.

So much more to unpack here, but for now this is where I’m at…

Jacob was walking toward the relationship he feared most.
Years earlier, he had deceived his brother Esau, taken his blessing, and ran for his life. Now he was coming home, expecting anger, rejection, and possibly revenge.
Instead, Scripture says:

Genesis 33:4
But Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.

Jacob expected judgment.
He found grace.
A few verses later Jacob says something incredible:

Genesis 33:10
Please, if I have found favor in your sight, then accept my present from my hand. For I have seen your face as though I had seen the face of God, and you were pleased with me.

Think about that for a moment...
Jacob had spent years carrying the weight of his past. He approached his brother expecting the worst. But when he looked into Esau’s face and saw acceptance instead of condemnation, it reminded him of the mercy he had already received from God.

How often do we do the same thing?
We assume God is angry.
We expect rejection.
We carry shame longer than God ever intended.
Yet through Jesus, God’s face toward us is not one of condemnation but of mercy, grace, and restoration.

Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Sometimes God heals relationships. Sometimes He heals hearts. Sometimes He does both.
Not every broken relationship will be restored, and wisdom still matters. But God can always break the chains of bitterness, shame, and fear that keep us bound to the past.

Jacob walked into that meeting limping from a night of wrestling with God.
Many of us are walking with a limp too. But the beautiful thing is this… God often does His deepest work in us when we stop running and trust Him with what we’ve been afraid to face.

Maybe today there is a relationship, a wound, or a memory you’ve been avoiding.
Bring it before the Lord!!!
You just may discover that the God you feared would condemn you is actually the God who is waiting to embrace you.

This mornings Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help us see Your face correctly. Where fear, shame, bitterness, or regret have taken root, bring healing and freedom. Give us wisdom in every relationship and courage to take the steps You are asking us to take. Let our lives reflect Your heart of forgiveness and reconciliation. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️🙌🙏🏻❤️

An evil decree is a judgment, command, pronouncement, plan, or decision that is contrary to the will, purpose, and blessing of God. In Scripture, evil decrees are often associated with unjust laws, wicked counsel, false accusations, or words intended to bring harm, oppression, destruction, or limitation.

Examples include:
• Pharaoh’s decree to kill Hebrew male children (Exodus 1:22)
• Haman’s decree against the Jews (Esther 3:12–13)
• The officials’ decree against prayer in Daniel’s day (Daniel 6:7–9)

Choose to remind your heart of what is true:

God is still good.
God is still faithful.
God is still in control.

Speak life.
Speak hope.
Speak His promises.

Feelings are real, but they are not always reliable. God’s Word is.💯🙏🤎

My morning thoughts…💬

I am so thankful for the family God has surrounded me with. Over the last few weeks I have watched people pray for us, encourage us, check on us, and stand with us even while they are on vacation, caring for their families, working, and walking through their own struggles. That is such a beautiful picture of the body of Christ. Hebrews 3:12-13 reminds us to encourage one another daily, and so many of you have done exactly that for Stephen and me. Your prayers, messages, and words of faith have carried us on days when we needed them most.

Father, thank You for giving me an amazing, praying family. Bless every person who has taken time to lift us up before You. Strengthen them, encourage them, and meet them right where they are today. Amen!

We love and appreciate each of you more than you know. ❤️
