At Avail we seek to embody and incorporate each of these three actions in our ministry to the houseless community. Advocate: Raising Awareness through speaking engagements, blogging, community involvement events, and church events. We desire to bring knowledge and awareness to the surrounding communities concerning the houseless community. Currently we are attempting to do so through our book, "Av
ail: unVAILing the houseless void," due to release on January 17, 2011. Primarily we desire to cultivate relationships between the houseless and the surrounding communities, individuals, business, and churches through outreach opportunities, different types of drives, and community involvement projects. Even further we dream of eventually opening an Urban Farm in which Avail can begin to cultivate plants, produce, and herbs. We believe that Avail: Gardens could serve to provide jobs, food, income, and stability to the houseless community. Resulting in community and economic growth through organic, green, stable means. Locate: Real change begins in the houseless community we begin to walk with them on a day to day basis. Not only do we at Avail seek to physically locate individuals of the houseless community but we further seek to locate them where they are mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Avail desires to locate each individual of the houseless community where they are at and walk with them. Avail is currently seeking to gain its 501(c)3 Non-Profit status. In order to accomplish this we are seeking to raise funds as we believe that this status will better enbale us to carry out our purpose in the houseless community.
