I have had a few people ask about putting out the flags on our Veterans graves for Memorial Day. Thank you for your support! Flags will be placed on Saturday, May 24th starting at 9:00 am. The pickup date/time is yet to be determined. We truly appreciate your volunteering and again, your support of our Veterans!!!

Volunteers Needed! Saturday, June 1st at 9:00am, Biloxi National is seeking volunteers to help removed and prepare the Memorial Day flags for storage. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Thank you!

Memorial Day Events at Biloxi National Cemetery are as follows:

The flags will be placed Saturday, May 25, 2024 beginning at 9:00am.

The Memorial Day service will be Monday, May 27, 2024 at 9:00am.

The flag pick-up will be accomplished Saturday, June1, 2024, also beginning at 9:00am.

The National Cemetery Administration’s 50th Anniversary Ceremony at Quantico National Cemetery will be livestreamed.

The ceremony will include remarks from VA senior leaders, the playing of taps, and performances by the 3rd U.S. Infantry traditionally known as “the Old Guard,” the U.S. Navy Drill Team, and the Quantico Marine Band.

The National Cemetery Administration (NCA) has an exciting opportunity for an energetic leader to serve as NCA’s Executive Director, Pacific District.

The Executive Director of the Pacific District is a SES position located in Oakland, California and serves as chief executive over an integrated network of National Cemeteries spanning a broad geographic area of 9 states (AK, AZ, CA, HI, ID, NM, NV, OR, WA) and 359 employees who provide burial and memorial services to a population of more than 3,430,000 Veterans and their eligible dependents.

The Executive Director reports to the Executive Director, Cemetery Operations, and leads a district-based management team organized for the purpose of providing memorial benefits in the national cemetery facilities in a way that achieves maximum effectiveness and is in accordance with NCA administrative and operational policies and practices.

The Executive Director serves as a systems manager, utilizing specialized technical skills, creativity, and innovation to ensure VA/NCA employees and all physical assets provide Veterans and their families with high-quality, compassionate, and efficient memorial benefits and services.

The duty station is located at the Pacific District Office in picturesque Oakland, California. Oakland is a unique bayfront city that has it all – great weather, happy people, adventure, culture, art, fashion, sports, recreation, music and education! It is ranked as one of the most happiest places to live in the U.S and boasts 261 sunny days each year.
