Thanksgiving isn't just about having a grateful personality.

It starts with knowing who Jesus is and surrendering our lives to Him.

Receive Christ.
Embrace Him as Savior and Lord.
Be rooted in Him.
Be built up in Him.
Be strengthened in Him.

And Paul says that as we grow deeper in Christ, something begins to overflow:

Thanksgiving.

The more deeply rooted we are in Jesus, the more His grace has a way of spilling over into our lives.

Christ in us.
Christ at the center.
Thanksgiving overflowing.

What if you stopped waiting for the "right time" to tell someone you're grateful for them?

Send the text.

Make the call.

Say thank you.

Tell someone you love them.

And don't forget to do the same with God.

Let thanksgiving overflow.

Sometimes gratitude gets stuck inside us.

We love someone, appreciate someone, admire someone, and somehow never actually say it.

So let it overflow.

Tell someone you love them. Thank someone for what they've meant to you. Send the text. Make the call. Say the thing you've been meaning to say.

And most of all, let your thanksgiving overflow toward God.

Praise Him for His goodness. Thank Him for His grace. Notice the blessings you've been given and don't be afraid to say it out loud.

Don't just feel thankful. Let thanksgiving overflow.

Take a heart check today.

What tends to overflow when life gets difficult?

Our words often reveal what's happening underneath.

Lord, grow gratitude in us until thanksgiving is what spills over.

What's overflowing out of you?

Jesus said that what comes out of our mouths reveals what's happening in our hearts.

And if we're honest, thanksgiving isn't always what spills out.

Sometimes it's frustration.
Sometimes it's worry.
Sometimes it's complaining.

But what if we began paying attention to what we're overflowing with?

Thanksgiving isn't just something we say before a meal. It's something God wants to cultivate in us until gratitude becomes what naturally spills over.

So here's the question:

What's overflowing out of you?

Jesus doesn't call us to love our enemies because it's easy.

He calls us to it because His way is different from ours.

And when obedience takes us beyond what we're capable of doing on our own, He doesn't leave us there. He strengthens us.

Rooted in Christ. Nourished by Christ. Built up in Christ.
