Slow but sure. The house under construction for the poor evicted family up in the mountains is coming along. The family is still sheltering in our nearby affiliated church, and now have had rags replaced by descent clothes. Workers must make the rugged hike to the worksite, and delivery of cement, sand, and steel is difficult at best.
The faithfulness of a strong Haitian Christian lady supervising this, and the generosity of American Christians, make all this possible.
Also, we should add, House of Faith Orphanage children and staff remain unmolested even though they are in a gang infested area the police are reluctant to enter. Please, keep praying.

SUCCESS!!! Kiki Kingson of our House of Faith Orphanage is out on his own. Nobody brought him to us some years ago as a 14 year old 9th grader. He came on his own after his father's death, which was followed by an unkind step-father's kicking him out of his mother's home to live on the streets.
A self-starter, he came to us, and we housed and sponsored him through high school. He repaid us by achieving excellent grades. On his own, he then found support from a Haitian teacher who has sponsored his college education in Engineering. He did stay on with us as Pastor Bato's excellent Assistant Director, but now, having found another job, he has chosen to move on even during these dangerous times.
Kiki is a solid Christian man. God bless you Brother Kiki, and may God go with you into your challenging future. Your story is why we do what we do at Haiti Mission Society. To God be the Glory.

Your homeless mountain family is still sleeping in the church during construction. Footers for the WALLS are already in. PIER Posts' Footers with steel rebar are being formed up. Blocks are being made from sand (dug by hand out of the mountain), cement, and local water .... mixed together by hand .... cast one at a time.
Your orphanage, down on the plain, is still safe by God's help.

FINALLY!!!!! THANKS BE TO GOD!!!! Pastor Bato, even injured himself, was able to safely get young Garryson to the hospital. It will be about a year-long process, so, keep praying for their safety, for Garryson's healing, and for better safety on the streets of Haiti.

This Haitian rural family suffered a dubious foreclosure. His house was then leveled by arson. Pictures show his pitiful situation on the side of a mountain near his church for safety. Our friends are offering some limited help. They need your immediate prayers.

In 1998, at our first orphanage, Mom Barb met an interesting teenage Haitian Christian. In a few years, as a young man, with our encouragement, he migrated to the U.S. on his own, and there became a hard-working success.
However, longing for home, he returned permanently to start a successful business there.
Recently, he lost that business to gang activity, so he moved to ancestorial mountain land to start over as a farmer. Lately he has been supplying your House of Faith Orphanage with basic grain and flower.
I withhold a name for his own security, but just can't help bragging about him as one of your success stories in missions.
