Something to ponder on.

If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference.

“3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared also to me. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. “ (1 Corinthians 15:3–11 ESV)

Paul is delivering the gospel of “first importance”. How often do we hold sharing the Gospel as a priority? This is the good news! Christ died for our sins and took a punishment that was meant for us! Praise God for His abundant mercy and love for His children! Let all we do bring glory to His name.

Today, we hear words like acceptance, compromise, and tolerance tossed around everywhere. But as believers, our foundation shouldn’t be culture, feelings, or popular opinion, it’s the Gospel. We are called to stand firm in this truth, even when it’s not popular.

There’s a saying: “Compromise is planting God’s flowers in the devil’s dirt.” That should make us pause and consider what we’re really doing when we bend our convictions.

Are we sacrificing the truth for the sake of comfort?

In today’s world, endless debates revolve around what’s acceptable, what’s up for discussion, and how far we should go to make others feel comfortable, but Scripture calls us to something deeper: we’re not meant to simply offer options, we’re called to speak Biblical Truth in love.

2 Timothy 4:2-4 reminds us: “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.”

So many questions debated in the church today aren’t about pointing people back to Christ. Instead, the focus has shifted to what feels good, how everyone can feel accepted, and what should change to avoid discomfort. But our calling hasn’t changed. Truth hasn’t changed.

Let’s return to the Word and let it guide our conversations and choices. May it all be for His glory!

Luke 11:33-36

33 No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
34“The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
35“Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness.
36“If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays.”

What we focus on is what is being produced on the inside; when we have our eyes set on Christ and His will we will be full of His light. However, when we focus on the things of the world we are filled with darkness. We need to be sensitive to what we are allowing to fill us and, as vs. 35 states, be watching out that the light in us is not darkness.
Is what we are consuming and allowing in our sight pleasing to and glorifying God?

Let all things be for His glory and His alone!

Today, the body came together to take the Lord’s Supper. What a blessing it was to hear, be reminded, and take a deeper look at the scripture that explains the significance and beauty behind it. We were truly reminded today of the cost of our freedom. A cost that we deserve to pay but that has been covered by His body and His blood. Thank you Lord for the love and mercy you have for us! Let all that we do bring you honor and glory!

Meet your brother Joel—his life has been changed by God’s Word.

“I was amazed by the teachings of Jesus,” he says. “Something inside me just knew I wanted to follow Him.”

But like so many who follow Christ in his country (we can’t disclose it for his safety), Joel soon realized the cost of his decision. His Muslim father threatened to kill him; his wife reported him to the police and he was arrested (where Joel lives, leaving Islam is illegal).

Despite his family’s rejection of him and his faith, Joel took the step of baptism.

His faith is inspiring: “I’m not scared of the authorities, and I want everyone in this country to know the true living God,” he says.

Joel and Open Doors local partner Isaac are now studying Scripture together, as Isaac disciples him and helps him grow in his faith. Isaac also gave Joel his own Bible.

“I’m truly thankful that Jesus took all my sins, and now I’m willing to do anything for him,” Joel says. “I’m going to live my life for Jesus.”

Isaac asks us to pray for Joel:
🙏🏽 Pray for his safety and protection. Pray for his family, especially his father and his wife, that their hearts will soften.
🙏🏽 Pray for wisdom and strength for Isaac as he disciples Joel. Ask God to give Isaac the knowledge and words to answer Joel’s questions, as well as help him navigate his family situation.
🙏🏽 Please continue to pray for so many like Joel who are quietly and courageously seeking truth.

Romans 8:1-4
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,
so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Please take time to dwell on these verses and what they truly mean.
God through his abundant mercy and love has sent us the Holy Spirit to set us free!
