Just what a difference one year can make! Precious memories!

Had two wonderful CHRISTmas programs! One in Ambachi on Friday afternoon and one this morning in Bahia. The children, and adults loved ‘dressing up’ like angles , and shepherds and everyone loved the gift bags. All received a box of candy, and cookies! The boys got match box cars long with their candy and cookies, The girls had a Barbie doll and bracelets with their candy and cookies. All the ladies received the candy, earrings and a bracket. The men received the candy and cookies and a flashlight! There were smiles everywhere!!

Just one year and what a difference it has made in the lives of the people in Ambachi!

In everything going on here in Ecuador right now, I’m very thankful for what God is doing here!!! As Lou rolls up in the truck children pour out! Today we had 12 precious little one from 3 - 13! All came running into the building yelling, ‘Sister Vernice, I know my Bible verse!’ For the next 5 minutes I had the blessing of hearing each one give their Bible verse from last week. Each Sunday after the lesson they are given a picture about the lesson to color. On the page is a Bible verse for them to Memorize for the next week. Everyone knew their verse this week. They were so glad to get to say it to me. I always tell them that what I say is not important! The most important thing is, what does God’s word say! Most have never been to church before coming to ours. I have had to teach them not to call me pastora (female in Spanish for pastor). Now they all call me Hermana Vernice, Sister Vernice. Today one made the mistake and one of the older boys told him to call me sister because Christians are In the same family and that God don’t call women to preach! May lose some over this, but again it’s important to know what God’s word says about it! Just feeling very blessed God is working in all the confusion. He is still in control

Great night in Ambache! Had a full house! Pastor Peter Rondon from Ibarra was with us. All the children except two. 3 year old knew their Bible verse! We took KFC with us! Everyone had a great time.
