Good Morning BCC and CLT family and friends.
Welcome to our Saturday Morning breakfast in the word once again! I first want to thank each one of you who reads and are being helped by our breakfast. This breakfast serves as our weekly Bible Study lesson along with announcements of what's going on in BCC and CLT and areas churches.
Today's breakfast is :
The Sufficiency of God’s Grace
2 Corinthians 12:9
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
God’s grace is enough for every burden, every battle, and every believer.
The aim of this lesson is to help God's people to understand that God’s grace is sufficient to sustain, strengthen, and satisfy them through every circumstance of life.
The Apostle Paul was a great preacher, missionary, and church planter. Yet he had a “thorn in the flesh” that caused him continual difficulty. Three times Paul asked God to remove it. Instead of removing the thorn, God supplied grace.
Sometimes God changes our circumstances. Other times He changes us within our circumstances. When God says, “My grace is sufficient,” He is declaring that what He provides is greater than what we face.
The word grace (Greek: charis) means God’s unmerited favor, kindness, and divine enablement. Grace is not merely God’s pardon for sin; it is God’s power for living.
I. Grace Sustains Us Through Trials
“My grace is sufficient for thee.”
Paul discovered that God’s grace could carry what his shoulders could not.
A. Grace Supports Our Weakness
•We are limited, but God is limitless.
•We are frail, but God is faithful.
•Isaiah 40:29 — “He giveth power to the faint.”
B. Grace Steadies Our Walk
•Grace keeps us from falling apart.
•Grace enables us to keep moving when life gets difficult.
•Psalm 37:24 — Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down.
C. Grace Supplies Our Needs
•Every trial comes with a fresh supply of grace.
•God never sends a burden without providing strength to bear it.
II. Grace Strengthens Us In Weakness
“For my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
God often does His greatest work through our greatest weakness.
A. Weakness Produces Dependence
•Paul learned to lean on God rather than himself.
•Self-sufficiency can become an obstacle to spiritual growth.
B. Weakness Reveals Divine Power
•God’s power shines brightest against the backdrop of human weakness.
•Gideon’s army was reduced so God’s power could be seen.
C. Weakness Develops Spiritual Maturity
•Trials deepen our faith.
•Difficulties strengthen our character.
•Weakness teaches us to trust God’s promises.
III. Grace Satisfies Us In Every Situation
“Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities…”
Paul moved from complaining about his thorn to celebrating God’s grace.
A. Grace Brings Contentment
•Grace teaches us that God is enough. Philippians 4:11-13
B. Grace Produces Confidence
•We can face tomorrow because God’s grace will be there. Lamentations 3:22-23
C. Grace Brings Comfort
•God’s presence is often most real in our pain.
•His grace quiets fears and calms troubled hearts.
When You Feel Overwhelmed:
Remember: God’s grace is greater than your burden.
When You Feel Weak:
Remember: God’s strength is strongest in your weakness.
When You Feel Alone:
Remember: God’s grace guarantees His presence.
When You Feel Like Giving Up:
Remember: God’s grace will carry you one more day.
Paul prayed for the thorn to be removed, but God gave something better—sufficient grace.
The lesson of 2 Corinthians 12 is not that God always removes the problem. The lesson is that God always supplies the grace.
God’s grace is:
•Sufficient for every trial.
•Stronger than every weakness.
•Greater than every burden.
•Enough for every day.
When life becomes difficult, the child of God can stand on this promise:
“My grace is sufficient for thee.”
Stop focusing on the thorn and start trusting the grace.
You may not know how God will work it out, but you can know this: Whatever you face, God’s grace will be enough to get you through it!
Let's continue to pray for our sick and shut in members and friends; especially our super seniors.
Sis. Tina Simien turned 102 years old Thursday, June 4, 2026. Let us continue to pray for Sis. Simien and her family!
