Bulletin Reflection — “You Are the Christ”
In today’s Gospel, Peter stands before Jesus and speaks words that change everything:
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
This confession is not born of human reasoning but of divine revelation — a moment when faith sees clearly what the world cannot.
Jesus responds by naming Peter the “rock” on which He will build His Church. The keys of the kingdom symbolize trust and mission: authority rooted not in power, but in service and fidelity. Just as Eliakim was entrusted with the key of David in Isaiah, Peter receives the keys of heaven — a sign that God’s plan continues through faithful hearts.
Each of us is invited into that same confession. When we recognize Christ as the living Son of God, our lives become part of His enduring foundation. The Church is built not on stone alone, but on the living faith of believers who, like Peter, dare to proclaim Christ in the midst of the world.
May this week renew our courage to speak those words with conviction — and to live them with love.
