In this powerful conversation, Sally Vonner talks with Christi Campos about what “grace in abundance” truly means—how God’s grace has moved through generations to nurture, protect, and uplift women, children, and youth around the world.

We also celebrate an incredible milestone: $53.8 million raised toward the $60 million Legacy Endowment Fund goal. This fund ensures that the mission and ministry of United Women in Faith continues for generations to come.

Whether through giving, serving, or leading, there is a place for you in this movement.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, United Women in Faith today reminded the public of King’s faith-led leadership with pleas to continue the fight against injustice.

“Today, United Women in Faith joins the world reflecting on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.,” said General Secretary and CEO Sally Vonner. “His leadership exemplifies the role of faith beyond the walls of a church and shows how our faith compels us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). King’s life and legacy guide us in our commitment to be the church where people of all races come together.

“Today, we are facing threats to the justice we are called to pursue. The lessons of King’s work have been ignored or warped by powerful people. United Women in Faith, and all those who believe in King’s vision, must rise against these challenges to continue the struggle for true racial equity and justice in the laws, policies, structures, and practices of both church and state.

“If you believe in what Martin Luther King Jr. advocated for in his time, we welcome you to join us on the path to racial justice. King accomplished much, but his dream is not yet realized. From addressing the school-to-prison pipeline, to eliminating institutional racism in the church and beyond, we call our sisters and the broader community to join in the ongoing pursuit of racial justice.”

I want to personally thank each of you who took time out of your busy Saturday to join us for our Annual Meeting in food, faith and fellowship. I hope the program and worship left you with the feeling you had been with a group of women who loved the Lord and were committed to serving him and others. Service can begin in our neighborhoods. We don’t often see those who are physically and spiritually hungry. They are isolated and are treated unjustly like others, but we just do not see them. Hopefully, you will go back to your circle meetings and share that Austin is truly a food desert. What can we do help? It can be small but mean a lot just like the fruit that was collected. Hunger is both physical due to inability to get to a food source and mental when you are lonely and have not talked to anyone in days or weeks. Jesus feed the hungry. UWF can also feed those that hunger. My prayer is you were fed on Saturday by our program and worship and the Holy Spirit will lead you to feed others.

Frances Pierson, Capital District UWF Vice President

Stop School Pushout! With Two Clicks!
Join United Women in Faith members and friends in urging Congress to pass The Ending PUSHOUT Act of 2023 (H.R. 2690), a federal bill that would support schools in addressing discriminatory and punitive discipline policies that criminalize and push Black girls and other girls of color out of school.

Our legislators have a unique opportunity to help end school pushout by supporting The Ending Punitive, Unfair, School-based Harm that is Overt and Unresponsive to Trauma (PUSHOUT) Act of 2023.
