We've probably all written an email while frustrated, reread it a few minutes later, and thought, "Yeah, maybe I shouldn't send this yet."
Sometimes one of the most practical things we can do is pray before we react. It doesn't need to turn into a 30-minute devotional. It might just mean stepping away from the computer for a minute and asking God to help us handle the situation well.
Prayer gives us a little space between what happened and what we do next. It gives us an opportunity to ask for wisdom before making the decision, responding to criticism, having the difficult conversation, or saying something we might wish we could take back.
That's what a prayer-first life can look like in the middle of an ordinary workday. It isn't about stopping everything to find the perfect words. It's about developing the instinct to bring God into what is happening while it's happening.
The AYP Prayer Room is a community of young professionals learning to build that kind of rhythm together. Check the comments for a link to learn more about The Prayer Room.
