SHE BIBLE BRUNCH LADIES

WOW!!! What a time we had at the She Bible Brunch on Saturday in Charlotte, NC God moved in such a phenomenal way!!! I praise Him for meeting us all. And I want the ladies who attended to know that I promise to continously pray for them… their situations and their families. I carry them in my heart and they are not standing alone. As I lay in bed yesterday morning, thoughts of every lady who had attended the brunch filled my heart, and I committed to God that I would intercede and cry out for them continually. “What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer.”

To My Precious Brunch Ladies, I am honored to have met you all and greatly honored to join forces with you in prayer!!! Hallelujah!!! Praises to His holy name!!! For great is the Lord, and He is indeed worthy of the praise!!!

I love this. Even in the midst of craziness… in craziness, surrounded by craziness, nothing making sense… God says if we sincerely come after Him, He is going to allow us to find Him!!! And, Ohhhhh!!! THERE IN HIS PRESENCE… THERE IS REFRESHING!!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

Walking into the restaurant for a Valentine’s Day lunch with my husband of almost 41 years, a sort of nostalgic joy swept over me. I say nostalgic because the warmth, glow, and safety that I felt all those years ago is still how I feel today. Finally collecting myself, I said to him that we were so blessed because of the love that we yet have for one another.. a love that continues to grow… to warm… to deepen… surpassing all that we knew possible!

PRAY BOLD PRAYERS!

Well, since we are praying to our God.. the One who knows no impossibilities, let's get creative in our prayer lives and GO BIG! GO BOLD! If we can imagine it, God can go way above and infinitely beyond! (Ephesians 3:20).

Spending intimate time in God's Word has definitely worked to supersize my prayer petitions! For example, at least 2-3 times a week, I will ask God to allow me to vicariously hold and rock children who are hurting, abused, and frightened! I can see it. I can sense it as I rock and hold them close. I quietly and gently assure them that all will be ok.

As I read of the miraculous encounters in God's Word- and there are many- my imagination opens, and while in prayer, lost in another dimension, Big Bold Petitions begin to flow!

PRAY BIG!!! PRAY BOLD!!!

TURN UP THE FIRE IN YOUR MARRIAGE

The message that we heard at my church this morning was to watch out for distractions... the things that pull our minds and focus from God!

As the message went forth, I couldn't help but think that cell phones probably rank right at the top of the distractor list. They often are the first things we pick up in the morning and the last things we put down at night!

Do you remember those challenges posted all over social media and probably are still being posted? Well, what about the following for a challenge...

1. Tenderly touch, hug, and/or hold your spouse more times per day than you touch your phone

2. Talk to your spouse more per day than you talk on your phone

3. Explore what went on in your spouse's day more than reading about what went on in the lives of those you barely know or don't know at all

4. Hug and embrace our children more than we embrace our phones

5. Talk to our children more than we talk on our phones

6. Explore what's on their hearts and minds more than what's on the minds of those on social media

When my husband and I go out to eat, I can't help but notice couples sitting across from each other, totally disconnected. How very sad! Sometimes, whole families sit, and everybody is engaged on individual devices.

Perhaps we should have a check-in basket at the table at home and in the restaurants where we toss our phones until after our meal.

I'd be willing to say that marriage quality and relationships with our children would greatly improve, even soar, if we would just PUT DOWN THESE CELL PHONES!!!!

Oh... in case you're wondering how this ties in with the message at my church this morning concerning things that distract us from God, God is the creator of Family. It is through God-centered families that the gospel of Jesus Christ will be put on display for a dying world to come into knowledge of Who God is and what He sent His Son, Jesus, to do in the earth!

All this time spent on phones, let's not rob our spouses and children of time that rightfully belongs to them.
