WELCOME TO FAITH TALK WITH JOHNNY!
The knowledge accumulated and progress made during the 20th century boggle the mind. My grandfather, born in 1892, was 11 when the Wright brothers flew their plane at Kitty Hawk, and he lived to see a man on the moon. Amazing span of time! But the exponential growth of knowledge and progress since the dawn of the Internet makes the previous span pale in comparison. But with all this knowledge, man has not been able to break through to the greatest knowledge of all. He has a blind spot in his mind, initiated at the Fall, and he has been blind to the greatest knowledge ever since.

My wife, Teri, has taught me the importance of questions. I am prone to run ahead…prone to let my dreams be my driving force. Because she is a questioner, Teri surfaces things I don’t think of. So many times my dear wife has saved me from stumbling over the cliff by her questions. I’ve come to realize that questions help to shape the issues of life leading to better decisions. The Bible is filled with poignant questions shaping eternal truths we must not run past.

I love snow. As a kid growing up in northern Michigan, we had a lot of it, and it stayed for quite a while. We used to say there are 2 seasons in Michigan, "winter and road work". HA! I always loved the first snow when the ugly brown of fall would be blanketed with white. The Bible has some interesting things to say about snow. Let’s talk about it!

God has been making preparation for the future from the beginning of time. Because He is the Lord of time and eternity, he is already in our future preparing the way we will walk in. And knowing that He has promised to direct our paths, we can trust Him for all our tomorrows. What a thought to squelch our anxiety. Let’s talk about it.

WELCOME TO FAITH TALK WITH JOHNNY! Happy New Year, everyone! The chorus of the old spiritual “Walk in Jerusalem Just Like John” says, “I want to be ready, I wanna be ready, I wanna be ready to walk in Jerusalem just like John.” The idea of being 'ready' in the song is being prepared for heaven. Preparation for heaven is essential if we want to go there. But there's another 'ready' that is essential for the journey here, and a good thought to carry with us in the new year.

WELCOME TO FAITH TALK WITH JOHNNY! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I’m not a very good Bible reader, at least not in this sense. I have a hard time reading through the Bible. I get stuck! I can only get so far and then a word or a phrase will jump out and implore me to investigate! I’ve had that kind of experience this Christmas Season with a phrase found in Galatians 4:4-5, where Paul says, “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law.” That phrase “the fullness of time” grabbed me and I was compelled to investigate. I think you’ll like what I found.

The Wonder of Christmas is unfathomable. We know what happened at Christmas. God came down in the person of Jesus Christ to rescue sinners. But Christmas is more than historical facts. For you and me who have received Jesus as Savior, Christmas is personal and relational. It is an all consuming story that when meditated on leads us to a state of inexplicable inspiration and Wonder.

Happy Thanksgiving, Yawl!
You know, it’s easy to give thanks in good times, hard to give thanks in bad times. I’ve learned over time that I’m not a good judge of what's a good time or a bad time. I’ve had good times turn sour and bad times turn sweet. But here’s what I know for sure…the times and seasons are in the Lord’s hands, and He is the sovereign, perfect arbiter. And since He is working all things for good to me, I can trust Him explicitly and give Him thanks in all things and at all times!

WELCOME TO FAITH TALK WITH JOHNNY!
When God made mankind in His image, He gifted us with will and reason and the ability to make decisions and choices. You and I have been making decisions and choices all our lives. But as you've heard me say before, our decisions and choices are not self-governed. "God governs in the affairs of men", said Benjamin Franklin. So true! It is the irrefutable story of scripture.

WELCOME TO FAITH TALK WITH JOHNNY!
It is always appropriate to talk about basic truths…foundational truths that orient life in the physical and spiritual. The Bible is the book of truth. It is the word of God, the Creator, to us the created, to spell out for us how things were made, how things work, and for what purpose. The world, in general, rejects God's truth and constantly bombareds us with its false narrative...which is why it is so important to have continuous conversations about foundational, Biblical truths. A question was asked recently in our Bible Study Class, what is the soul and spirit of man. A really good and important question. What is it that makes me - me and you - you?

One Voice – Hymns for the People of God To Praise and Worship
The “One Voice Hymnal Collection” is a curated treasure of 234 of the most well known and beloved hymns and gospel songs of our Christian faith. The collection was envisioned and created by Tom Fettke and Johnny Hall to encourage God’s people to come together, in large or small groups, and worship Him in song. One Voice – Hymns for the People of God The centerpiece of the One Voice Hymnal Collection is the new hymnal “One Voice – Hymns for the People of God”…an unparalleled worship resource. Consider the following: The 234 hymns and gospel songs in the One Voice Hymnal are a masterful blend of beloved songs that have stood the test of time and a generous selection of current hymns, written by writers like Keith Getty, Stuart Townend, Ken Bible, Michael W. Smith, Twila Paris, Martin Nystrom, and many others. Nearly half of the songs in the One Voice Hymnal are skillfully arranged with key changes, introductions, last verse harmonizations, choral endings, segues, transitions, repeat settings, and refrains. (See indexes pages 375-377) Instrumentalists love the large print 3 ring binder One Voice Hymnal Accompaniment Edition with guitar chords.
Keyboardist loves the many songs with keyboard arrangements in the accompaniment. With the Accompaniment Edition instrumentalists can perform tasteful solos or ensembles adding to the worship experience. Scripture readings are included throughout the hymnal along with inspiring quotes from some of the greatest leaders in church history. These encourage a spirit of devotion in corporate and individual use. Speaking of scripture, two indexes are included in this hymnal to aid in personal devotion and corporate worship. On page 336 is the index entitled ABOUT THE HYMNS. Each song alphabetically listed with scripture and devotional thoughts included. Also on page 364 is the index SCRIPTURE BACKGROUNDS IN BIBLICAL ORDER. With this index, if you want a hymn based on John 3:16 (to tie into the pastor’s message), you can find it here.
Notice the additional information provided in the alphabetical index: keys, approximate tempos, and the verses selected for the demonstration recordings and tracks. Special attention has been given to the physical aspects of this hymnal. Font sizes are as large as possible in a pew size hymnal; high quality white opaque paper; binding is “Smythe sewn” (the finest method of binding); linen textured Kivar cover guarantees years of service; the hymnal is light and comfortable to hold. One Voice – the People of God Sing To make the One Voice Hymnal fully singable for anyone, anywhere, beautiful piano/organ accompaniment tracks of all 234 songs were created. The recordings called “One Voice-the People of God Sing” come in two different 12CD packs…a complete demo recording with piano/organ/choir combined…and a Split-Track version with the piano/organ tracks on one channel and the choir on the other. You can also order and download songs and tracks individually from this website under the Digital Hymns category.
The companion recordings bring the One Voice hymnal to life in any setting. With a CD player or a smartphone with the songs and readings downloaded, you have an immediate resource for personal devotion or corporate worship. Whether in the church, or in the choir, in a Bible study group, or a Sunday school class, in a gathering in someone’s home, or with your family; whether in your personal devotions, or an assisted living or nursing home, visiting the shut-ins, or someone in the hospital, the One Voice Hymnal Collection is designed to be your resource for singing God’s praise.
