SUNDAY SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS – VEDIC SANSKRITI SCHOOL
Another enriching Sunday at Vedic Sanskriti School (VSS), Atlanta brought together language learning, Vedic values, mantra studies, aasan, and opportunities for personal growth and confidence-building.
In Hindi classes, Advanced Hindi students began writing dictation on Mere Pita book, while the Hindi Third Level students started learning the Chhoti Ee (ई) ki Matra.
In Mantra class, the Rik and Yaju groups began learning the meaning of the Bhojan Mantra, while the Saam and Atharva groups practiced the shloka introduced last week.
The Aasan sessions focused on strength, balance, and awareness through various postures, Surya Namaskar, and energizing stretches to awaken the body and beat the cold. The session concluded with gratitude and blessings for our inner and outer Gurus while chanting the “Tamaso Maa” mantra.
The Vedic Values classes explored meaningful life lessons. The Yaju group learned why water is precious; the Saam group learned about maintaining presence of mind and courage during difficult situations; and the Atharva group studied the word-by-word meaning of the Gayatri Mantra, with a discussion on knowledge and intelligence.
The Arya Yuva Mandal (AYM) Seniors participated in a VDAT question-and-answer session, while two students had the opportunity to give presentations during the Sunday services at the temple. The AYM Juniors continued building confidence through mock public-speaking sessions.
Through these engaging activities, VSS continues to nurture knowledge, Vedic values, confidence, physical well-being, communication skills, and a spirit of learning and service among its young learners.
