I’m still pondering the lessons of watching my son complete his first half Ironman.

Still contemplating these five qualities that helped him keep going, and gave me something to think about in my own walk with God.

Last weekend, my husband and I watched our son complete his first half Ironman. I was a very proud momma when he crossed the finish line.

His race left me reflecting on determination, endurance, perseverance, fortitude, and steadfastness. All the attributes that help us to take the next faithful step in our own lives.

Self-doubt often begins as a voice, but beneath it may be a wound, a fear, or an old belief waiting to be brought into the light.

Instead of letting that voice lead, bring it before the Lord. Ask Him to reveal what is true, and then take the next faithful step.

His goodness has not changed. His faithfulness will meet you there.

Have you ever said yes to something you believed God was asking of you, only to wonder later, "What was I thinking? Can I really do this?"

Self-doubt has a way of making us question both our ability and the significance of our calling. But perhaps the answer isn’t about becoming more confident in ourselves. Perhaps it is learning to place our confidence in the One who called us.

In this week’s reflection, I’m sharing what happened when God’s quiet voice rose above my own feelings of inadequacy.

Self-sufficiency is a convincing liar. I fall for it all the time.

It tells us, "You’ve got this. You don’t need help. It all depends on you."

Until busyness buries us, worry takes over, and peace quietly slips away.

But everything does not depend on us. God is before us, beside us, and with us. We are never alone, and that is truth!

This week, I’m reflecting on self-sufficiency, the peace of God’s presence, and the freedom that comes when we release control.

Sometimes the Lord asks us to do something that feels far beyond our abilities or comfort. His invitation may come quietly—a thought that won’t leave, a prayer that won’t cease, or a stirring in the heart that cannot be ignored.

How do we recognize His voice, discern what He is asking, and find the courage to respond?

When we know the One who is calling, how can we not say yes?

Last week, we talked about a simple prayer:
Search me.
Show me.
And lead me.

But what happens when God answers—especially when His truth comes through words we would rather not hear?

God does not reveal the hidden places of our hearts to condemn us. He brings them into the light so He can heal us, free us, and lead us more fully into who He created us to be.

A quiet morning kayaking down the river, and one unexpected photo got me thinking about how well we really know ourselves.

We don’t always recognize the ways we’ve drifted. Sometimes we need the courage to pray, “Search me, O God… show me what I cannot see on my own.”

In my latest reflection, I’m writing about self-awareness, the “ancient path,” and how God gently reveals what is hidden, not to condemn us, but to lead us toward healing, freedom, and ultimately, back to His heart.

Sometimes being overwhelmed is less about everything on our calendar and more about where our gaze has landed.

Early this week, my gaze had wandered. A full calendar, deadlines and responsibilities, and that old familiar feeling of having too much to hold crept in.

So I stepped outside. In the breeze and the swaying trees came a simple reminder from the Lord: “I am here.”

Psalm 73 brought me back to the One who holds all things, and who is holding you and me.
