Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to sift you men like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail; and you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers." Luke 22:31-32

Sometimes in our Christian walk with God, we are challenged by the devil to doubt God, lose faith in His promises and provisions. The devil wants to 'have you or 'sift' you as Jesus told Peter. The enemy sets out to draw us away from our faith in our Lord.

When we seek more knowledge of Christ, grow diligent in service, and see spiritual blessings that confirm God's hand on our life, we may experience sudden set backs. But that is evidence that demonic powers are trying to stop your work in the Lord. Stay firm in faith and help others in their faith work as well.

You therefore must endure hardship, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier of service entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier. II Timothy 2:3-4

As followers of Jesus Christ, we have an adversary, the devil (I Peter 5:8). We have the world and its temptations (I John 2:16)). And we struggle within ourselves, against the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:17)

But God who has enlisted us gives us what we need for the good fight of faith. This fight is not about what we see but spiritual. Our weapons are divine from God (II Corinthians 10:4; Ephesians 6:13-17). Resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7). Renew your mind and the things of world will be less tempting (Romans 12:2). And be led by the Spirit of Christ to suppress the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

Live each day in Christ as a overcomer, more than a conqueror, and triumphant!

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us reveals the fragrance of the knowledge of Him in every place. II Corinthians 2:14

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:16-17

Evidence of your calling is the fact of your trials, tribulations, and temptations. The devil is coming hard for those believers who are proclaiming and living the Word of God.

Rejoice like Paul said, because Jesus said his followers would suffer like he did for the eternal work of the Father. Don't fret, don't get mad at people who mistreat you, who call you everything but a child of God, because that's your high calling. God is smiling on you, declaring you worthy among His heavenly host.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

In this season of Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the One who through His life and redemptive work on the Cross would save the world from our sins. The prophet Isaiah penned a beautiful description of our Savior.

Jesus not only rules over the governments of the world, but in believers He governs our hearts. We love because He first loved us. He is our King and He has all power in heaven and on earth. He upholds all things by the power of His word (Hebrews 1:3).

His name is Wonderful. ‘Oh, how I love the name of Jesus.’ You can call on Him anytime. He’s always near and will never leave us. His counsel is true and will never lead us wrong. Jesus is the way, and the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word was God. All things were created by Him, through Him, and for Him. He is the almighty God.

He is the Everlasting Father. He has no beginning and no end. He is a self-sufficient, all sufficient God. Praise the Lord , the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting! And all the people shouted "Amen!" and praised the Lord (1 Chronicles 16:36)

And He is the Prince of Peace. Our salvation through faith in Christ gives us peace with God the Father (Romans 5:1). Before conversion, we were enemies to God (Romans 5:10). In our trials and tribulations, Jesus is our peace. His power can calm our anxieties and strengthen us to overcome the pressures of the world.

The greatest gift the world has received was the birth of Jesus! Praise His glorious Name!

And He has said to me, ``My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. II Corinthians 7:9

There is a saying…” Whatever don’t kill you, will make you strong.” The passage the apostle Paul wrote proves that God will give the strength to endure whatever situation of difficulty you are in. Because of great revelations God had showed to Paul, God did not want Paul to boost about it. So God allowed one of Satan’s messengers to torment him in the body (II Corinthians 7:7). Paul prayed for relief but God responded with “My grace is sufficient for you.”

Remember in a time of affliction, God has a purpose to accomplish at that time of your life. Either to restrain you from sin, test your faith, or maybe to show someone His faithfulness in time of trials and temptation. It might not sound inspiring but if we can encourage ourselves knowing that the power of Christ dwells in us for His sake. Our weaknesses and tribulations will make us strong.

Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. II Corinthians 7:10

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. II Corinthians 5:17

Being a believer in Christ means being in Christ. We are born-again, born in the Spirit of Christ and we are identified with Christ in His righteousness. Because of the person and redemptive work (sinless in life, perfect sacrifice for our sins, resurrection, and seated on the right of the Father) of Jesus, we have a new spiritual life. Our old life, dead in trespasses and sin have been awaken to the Light in Christ.
The redeemed sinner we use to be does not follow the course of this world (Ephesians 2:2). We have the grace to see and understand the things of God that once was hidden in our sin nature. The believer is still in the world physically but not of the world spiritually. Do not be conformed to the worlds’ point of view but be transformed by renewing your mind by putting on the mind of Christ (Romans 12:2; I Corinthians 2:16
Spend time in the Holy Scriptures for knowledge, understanding, and wisdom from above and the Holy Spirit will reveal divine things that you never knew. Your walk with God will bring strength, peace, and joy in whatever state you are in. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Psalms 119:105
