Very hard to ignore depression when it continues to whisper in your ear.
*The rate of su***de is highest in middle-aged white men.
*In 2020, men died by su***de 3.88x more than women.
*On average, there are 130 su***des per day.
*White males accounted for 69.68% of su***de deaths in 2020.
*In 2020, fi****ms accounted for 52.83% of all su***de deaths.
* Self-reported su***de attempts for black adolescents rose by 73% between 1991 to 2017.
*93% of adults surveyed in the U.S. think su***de can be prevented.
• Black boys are engaging in more lethal means when attempting su***de than Black girls which has increased by 122% between 1997-2017.
• Black boys are twice as likely to die by su***de than white youth.
• Black Men don’t often recognize depression or
trauma as an issue therefore don’t associate SI as a problem.
